Nearly 100 people gathered at Tucson police headquarters Friday to protest the department's recent announcement that it would no longer call immigration officials to schools or churches.
The protesters, holding American flags and signs that read "Enforce our laws" and "Zero tolerance for illegals," walked to police headquarters at 270 S. Stone Ave. from Armory Park in an effort to change the policy.Assistant Police Chief Roberto Villaseñor went outside shortly after 10 a.m., thanked the crowd for their civic participation and told them the department would take the petition into consideration. But he said the department wouldn't change its policy.
"Our main mission is not enforcement of immigration laws, our main mission is public safety," he said. "There's federal agencies that are tasked with that."http://www.azstarnet.com/metro/210932

The department has officially modified its policy to include language that prohibits police officers from calling immigration officials to schools or churches.

soooo.....It's about ENFORCEMENT. They're just here to maintain "public safety." (I guess I don't need to pay for car registrations any longer--or buy car insurance.)

ALSO, it's nice that they're deciding which rights they won't take away.

FURTHER,,it's nice that this fellow can state that--on one hand, "the department would take the petition into consideration," WHILE on the other hand, "the department wouldn't change its policy."

I also wonder if a Buddhist feels somewhat concerned when he takes a walk outdoors at the risk of trampling on and killing ants. I had a great idea to make jewelry boxes out of cigar boxes this year for christmas. I would love for them to play music when opened but I am having the hardest time finding the insert to do so... As an international student and going into the Finance for the major. Im so frustrated of thinking about getting into which school. My cousin in law told me that there is not a big difference between both - like reputation, starting salary, or so. (She isn't sure about it, she just guesses, but she graduated from Boston College for a long time ago.)
or the other hand, I heard from my classmate, who is attending at Amherst, he's saying Amherst is much better than Boston FOR SURE.
Please help, because if I attend at Amherst, I need to live in dormitory. And some ppl I'm living with would say sth harsh, cuz i need to pay more money for the housing. So, I'm wondering if there is strong fact about Umass Amherst is better than Boston one.
The only one reason that block my mind is my cousin in law, she is saying there is no different. I kind of believe her, cuz I know she is a very smart woman, and I admire her.

My question is this: Atheists, Why do you believe that you will never come to exist within another reality? What is your reasoning for this? We would like to visit Kauai next year for about 10 days. We like a 3- or 4-star hotel, but also don't like the trouble and cost of a rental car.

(yeah, I only have one american friend) so I'm generalizing over him..

The issue is that his ORTHOGRAPHIC MISSPELLINGS are painful, it makes me want to take my eyeballs out,..
I know other countries have higher levels of ignorance of lack of education,
so my question is:
Is my friend a good representation of all americans?
Is he dyslexic?
Or he is just an isolated case of tragedy?

I cant stand my family and I rarely ever talk to my mum/dad. Now we have guests over and I dont feel like going downstairs.

For the last three months, my period lasts only 2 days as opposed to the 4 days I have been accustomed to for the last ten years. What do you suppose could be the reason for this?
I have had very little stress in my life & the only thing I can think of is my weight loss of 15 lbs several months ago (but the change in my period occurred two cycles after my weight loss was complete).
