Inspired by Jack Bruce's claim that Bach is the world's all time best bass player and someone else (whom I can't remember) who said that Beethoven would have been a rock n roller if he were alive today.

I love Chopin, and yes he did have a good sense of rhythm but his real genius was his soaring melodies so I don't think that he should be the drummer.

Yes. OH !! -- I HAVE to Pick ?? :)) They're all Amazing and It's hard to Compare them. ANSWER -- BEETHOVEN ( "BeatField" in English LOL ), because I Prefer the "Romantic Period" over the Previous. Simple as that. I assume you are referring to the Greatest Bach - J.S. Bach ? Bach -- (1685-1750) The Greatest of "THE BAROQUE" Period and Mathematical as well as Musical Genius. Mozart -- (1756-1791) The Most PROLIFIC EVER !! -- of THE CLASSICAL Period. It's Amazing how Effortlessly He Wrote SO MUCH Material. Beethoven -- (1770-1827) Though a Student of Classical Music under Haydn -- Only Beethoven's 1st Symphony could be Considered Classical. His 2nd was the Beginning of What Would Become THE ROMANTIC Period. HE WAS THE BRIDGE along with a Handful of other composers. In Reaction to Cultural Changes -- Music at that Time -- Moved from the "RIGIDNESS" of CLASSICAL to a more DARING and (for the Time) EXPERIMENTAL Form - Where The Music was More like a "Story" Reminds me a Fundamental Rock&Roll moving to Progressive Rock. Anyway - I think they are Incomparable, but I would pick Beethoven, purely due to the ROMANTIC Connection. Thank goodness, you did not Bring-Up RICHARD STRAUSS, then we have to Discuss THE MODERN Period - LOL :) .

The Little Drummer Boy. He played for the newborn king "Pa rum pum pum pum, on my drum." This answer was provided by my son, who says it was "brought to you by the Letter A".

My answer, should you choose to have it is John Philip Sousa. ♥
