I cant stand my family and I rarely ever talk to my mum/dad. Now we have guests over and I dont feel like going downstairs.
My dad came up saying ''you should be ready'' in a harsh tone of voice.
Makes me feel guilty but I dont want to go down - theres loads of people and Im shy. They've been here for about 40mins now.

You may have to go down for a short time to make your parents happy, then you can sneak upstairs again.

Do what Regan did in The Exorcist (the scene where her mother is having a party and there's a guy playing the piano and everyone is singing along and then suddenly Regan walks into the room and they all stop and look at her...)
One thing will be for sure - next time there's a gathering, your folks will be happy for you to stay upstairs out of the way!

Your parents should no that your the kinda shy type anyway so why try force you downstairs? to show you off or something?
Why not say to your dad that you've far too much stuff to do upstairs and thats where your staying till it's done then that way he cant get crazed at you cos your busy doing whatever it is your doing eg. tiding your room, etc. ONLY come down when YOU are ready hun. Have fun

If they have been there for 40 mins you might aswell not bother going down. Instead spend your time with us =) we're much better company hehe.

Go downstairs and make an appearance. Grab some food and go back to your room. He didn't say how long you had to stay. What is the occassion?

you must go down and say hi to the guests to show a respect...even if you go up again its okay at leasts u said hi to them
