I talked to an old friend after not having contact for about 3 years. He was considered an alcoholic and drug addict by the age of 14, he was court ordered to attend AA and NA he was in several diversion classes and incarcerated in the rehab section of the county jail when busted for Possession of a controlled substance. I talked to him the other day and he was drunk. I was concerned because of his past, I ask him about his drinking habits now and he said yeah I like to kick back every now and then with a beer and a bowl. I suppose my question is how appropriate is it for a “recovering” alcoholic/drug addict to be a social drinker and pot smoker?

My dog was the victim of an unprovoked attack by a notorious neighbourhood dog who was running loose - is there any product(s) legal in the UK that I could carry during walks to prevent a repeat occurance (this dog is meant to be kept tied up but the owners ignore all instructions to do so) luckily my dogs injuries are not as bad as they could have been due to her heavy coat offering protection, she sustained several scratches and two bad heamotomas (blood blisters) above her hips that will cause her pain for around 2 weeks until they clear had she fought back or been a short coated breed her injuries would have been far more serious possibly life threatening.

I now feel that it would be wise for me to carry a deterrant when our walks resume as the owners do not and will not tether the dog (or build a fence).

Any help or suggestions please.

If 'persona non grata' is 'an unwelcome person', then can 'a beloved person' be something beginning with 'persona.....' as well? I'm thinking of a name for my short story, and want to have a bit of wordplay with the phrase 'persona non grata', so I'm looking for the word/phrase that has a familiar beginning yet contradicts in the end. But if that's not how it's supposed to be, I'm open to other suggestions. Would appreciate your advice. Thank you!

OK, sorry if this is a gross sounding post... I have internal hemorrhoids - and I've had them before b/c I have IBS - but right now in my pregnancy they've been REALLY bad! I'm 33 weeks and I think my baby has dropped b/c there's been a lot of pressure down there and the last 4 days I've had a bowel movement 4-8 times a day... with a LOT of bleeding... blood is pouring out when I go to the bathroom...

So my question is - has anyone else had this? Did they have to repair it? I"m a little big anemic right now (I"m taking extra iron) but I guess that could cause some problems with it healing... HELP!

Hello from Dorset! I ride a 50cc as well as keeping a car but want to move on to something a little bigger. I have seen the bike to which I have given a link below; do you think it would suit a beginner? I am 22 and looking for something simple and fun to ride with few creature comforts- would this fit the bill? Is £2200 a fair price?

And at 25 bhp and 350cc what sort of performance am I looking at, bearing in mind I am used to a 30 mph 50cc scooter so might find even a little excess in power quite surprising!

Thanks!
