Hello all you dog lovers!
2 more days to go till Howl-o-ween!
Yesterday we discussed about keeping your dog safe on halloween. Checking the yard for WRAPPERS, I said it right this time! :)
No chocolate no nothing.
Ringing doorbells, knocking on doors can get your dog started but with a few helpful tips there will be no fuss.

Topic for today: Dog Leash
What kind of leash do you use on your dogs?
Retractable?
Just a plain leash?
What brand is your leash? How long is yours? Long ones for a specific place and time? Short ones for a specific time and place?
Share any tips and knowledge you have!

"Dogs love their friends and bite their enemies,
quite unlike people, who are incapable of pure love
and always have to mix love and hate."

I keep hearing it from christians, what exactly does that mean !? Is it a ritual thing, does it have to do with baptizing, is it just a metaphor !?!?

Like, hypotetically speaking, if I want to "accept Jesus christ as my personal saviour" (or whatever it is they say it) right now, what must I do?

A rotational axis is directed perpendicular to the plane of a square and is located as shown in the drawing. Two forces, 1 and 2, are applied to diagonally opposite corners, and act along the sides of the square, first as shown in part a and then as shown in part b of the drawing. In each case the net torque produced by the forces is zero. The square is one meter on a side, and the magnitude of 2 is 3 times that of 1. Find the distances a and b that locate the axis. Note that a and b are not drawn to scale.

I'm not sure where to begin with this question. Can someone give me some tips? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

I see so much misinformation here about what it means for a dog to be AKC registered.

Here's a couple myths I've seen:

- Myth: "A dog outside the breed standard cannot be registered." and "If a dog is AKC registered, it means it is high-quality."
- Truth: False. All registry means is that the dog's parents were AKC registered, purebred, and of the same breed. A dog can have disqualifying faults and still be registered.

- Myth: Only champion dogs can be registered.
- Truth: False. A dog needs to be shown before it can be champion. And a dog needs to be registered to be shown.

What are some others you have heard?

Professor of mathematics sent a fax to his wife. It read:

"Dear wife, You must realize that you are 54 years old and I have certain needs which you are no longer able to satisfy. I am otherwise happy with you as a wife, and I sincerely hope you will not be hurt or offended to learn that by the time you receive this letter, I will be at the Grand Hotel with my 18-year-old teaching assistant. I'll be home before midnight. - Your Husband"

When he arrived at the hotel, there was a faxed letter waiting for him that read as follows:

"Dear Husband. You too are 54 years old, and by the time you receive this, I will be at the Breakwater Hotel with the 18-year-old pool boy. Being the brilliant mathematician that you are, you can easily appreciate the fact that 18 goes into 54 a lot more times than 54 goes into 18.
Don't wait up."
