To accept Jesus means...
You accept all the stories regarding Jesus as true.
You accept all that is written in Bible.
You behave and act in accordance with the christian religious teachings.
You abandon all that what has been apposed by the religion.
You accept him as your lord.
You keep all your atheist thoughts away (LOL)
I hope I have answered your question correctly and made it as simple as possible.

Accepting Jesus is to believe in Him and trust what He says to do. Belief and feeling sorry for your past actions is the first part. You do need to repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins though. Check out Acts 2:36-38, Romans 6, Galatians 3:27, James 2:17-19, and 1 Peter 3:20-22. After this you are a Christian. Live out a life for Jesus and if you make a mistake look at 1 John 1:9 and 2:1. Note 1 John is written to Christians, not non-Christians.
Additional comment for Kidlet: Be careful of what you are saying. No where in the New Testament is that prayer mentioned and no where is anyone saved by praying.

All you need to do is just believe, Most christians say that you have to say a prayer saying to God that you fully understand, but if Jesus said 'That whoever believes in him will have eternal life." now most people believe that Jesus did walk the earth, but what he meant was believing that he has the power to save. If you want to know how it was possible. as a man of God temptaitons would hurt him if they came in the concentration that they did and I think that as he was on the Cross the devil put opon him every demon he could spare and he remained so divinely pure that he resurected himself and that is something that no one has ever done, even though there has been resurectiions.
Keep him in your thoughts and become like him and reading the scriptures help. All you need is to read from Matthew to Revelation in that order.

You must accept the fact that Jesus died for your sins and that He rose again to maintain the prophecies that were foretold in the Old Testament. It's not a ritual, you can do it to yourself or in prayer.
Baptism is merely a public statement of your faith. It cannot save you. Basically you get saved first and then get baptized.
In order to receive Him as your savior, here's a prayer you can say:
"Dear Lord, I admit I'm a sinner. I've done a lot of things wrong in my life. Save me. I accept Your sacrifice on the cross at Calvary. Make me the kind of person You would have me to be. Amen."
If you said that prayer for the first time, let me know :)

This is not difficult at all !
To start out, all you have to do is believe in a loving Father God and desire to learn and do more supreme values of truth, beauty and goodness. Later on, you may have a Spirit Birth while still here on earth, and then really Know in your soul, not just intellectually believe in your mind, that our Sovereign Jesus Christ is our universe Creator Father, loving and merciful Savior, True Teacher as He the Spirit of Truth (see John 16:7-16) and eternal Friend and Elder Brother in the infinite Family of the Universal Father-Infinite I AM.
The rest of the suggestions here are just varying Christian human dogma, and not as Jesus teaches. If you trust Him, He will lead you into ALL Truth: GOD.

Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord & Saviour. How wonderful.
All you need to do is: Confess your Sins (He knows them all), and believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for you .
Simply say:
Dear Lord:
I know that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for MY sins and His blood was shed for ME.
Please forgive me of my sins, wash them away and make me whiter than snow.
Please, Jesus enter into my life and guide me in all I do.
I accept Jesus as my Lord .
Amen.
Once you have said words to this effect, your life WILL change by the Power of the Holy Spirit.
Just remember, to walk by faith. Don't just stop with this prayer, make prayer/scripture reading a daily part of your life.
The name of Jesus is THE most powerful Name in the world.
Remember too, that prayers are answered in HIS time, not ours.
Talk to a local Minister for further guidance.
Remember that CHRISTMAS stands for"
C - Christ Child born upon this Day
H - Harald Angles
R - Redeemer
I - Israel
S - Star
T - Three Wise Men
M - Manger where He laid
A - All He stands for
S - Shepherds came

To accept Christ is to personally believe with your heart that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God. That He did come to this earth and die on the cross to save mankind from their sins. The bible says you must "believe in your heart and confess with your mouth."
There is no ritual that you have to go through to accept Him.
Really what good does a ritual do?
If you truly accept Him, you must do it with your heart.
If you do not feel it in your heart, then it is false.

No, When you come to the point of wanting to except the invitation of belief and salvation that has everything to do with faith that has been given to you by God...There is or doesn't have to be any formalities added to it... I think that a personal
experience one on one is closer to a true conversion then publicly displaying it... You need no long drawn out prayer to ask him to change your life nor do you need an alter... Your life and relationship with God should be personal and directed by Him not man...Man can have a part to play in your new life but beware so you don't get trapped in the web of religiosity which kills the relationship...
Your responsibility is to talk to God and go to his word for knowledge, help and guidance...My most personal experiences in my growth has been on my own talking and listening and the study of his word...You have questions the best source for answers is the one who created all things..
When I was called and excepted my gift of faith I simply cried out "God if you are real and you have a purpose for my life then change it from this day forward" all by myself in the middle of the night and from that time forward the process of my life changed and continues to do so .... Oh I shared my new found faith and caught some sh*t for it but it didn't matter.
What did matter was that people could see the changes and couldn't believe their eyes!
If he calls you to a specific congregation then go but just know you should never be too content in any of those situations or you could find yourself slave to it..You must be open for changes to come and stretch your faith..That is part of growing in God....

God created man. God and man walked together and had a close personal relationship. Man sinned. God promised man before hand that if he disobeyed Him he would return to dust (die). It happened. Man cut himself off from his relationship to his Father and Creator. And thus, a void was made between God and man. Man has tried unsuccessfully for several thousand years to do things his own way. He has failed miserably (watch the news). Even science and technology can't cure the disease of the heart.
Out of love for His creation God sent His Son. Jesus taught us how to live right and how mankind should love one another. He taught us that having faith in Him could brings us back to the Father. He ultimately gave His life for us. There is no greater love than this. No other religion on earth can make the same or remotely similar claim.
By sacrificing Himself for us he has given us the option of favor (grace) in God's eyes. He established a renewal of our prior relationship. It's like braving the streets to save a lost child who was thrown out for disobedience. The love is unconditional. But our salvation isn't. Our favor and reconciliation comes through faith in Him. This faith means to love, trust, and obey Him. Or it's back to the 'streets' which means inevitable death. We can have eternal life as was originally given to Adam and Eve only through Him. Only He can give life.
The best way to accept your Savior is to repent and turn away from sin, study the Bible (His Testimony), pray, and ultimately have faith in Him. There are perhaps 10s of thousands of belief systems in the world. The only way to find truth in its purest form is to read from it yourself. It will take time. But the Holy Spirit will guide you to an understanding of life that you never dreamed possible. But in order for your eyes to be opened you have to open your heart.
God bless
