I think Mariah Carey has much better range but Christina Aguilera has better vocal command of the smaller range she owns. Not sure why but Mariah sometimes goes off the edge and loses it. Maybe it's a mental thing more than a physical problem. In any event, since I do like both artists, I'd favor Christina's vocals simply because she doesn't overdo herself and controls the vocals and pitch perfectly.

Personally, it's a case of which do I dislike least.
That would be Christina. I don't like her much but she's better than Mariah - I hate the way she goes up and down instead of holding a note. If she is such a good singer (as some people claim) then why doesn't she prove it by showing she can hold a long steady note.

Christina Aguilera withhout a doubt. Her songs are great and she's an all-rounder - as well as having a brilliant voice, she can dance and really gets her songs across in her videos which are always great entertainment in themselves. Mariah Carey has a good voice, but she lacks Christina's personality.

MARiAH. I hate Christina's voice, it has absolutely no power so she screeches instead. Christina knows herself that Mariah has a better voice than hers, she and all the other wanna-be's that admit to idolizing Mariah...so to say Christina makes you look pretty stupid. I guarantee you when and IF (a big if) Christina manages to have a 17 year career like Mariah, she won't have HALF the hits Mariah has NOW.

I'm gonna base my answer on who I like more so I'd say Christina because I can't stand Mariah although she does have a good range I just find that she sometimes hits a irritating note if anybody knows what I'm sayin
