I'm new to the area and though I try to stay informed, I often miss out. For example, I heard nothing of the march yesterday (10/17/2007) until after it was over.

I've done web searches, but the sites found are either bare-bones or more often way outdated, touting 'Kerry for President'! Where can I look for more comprehensive, current information on progressive issues and events?

Thanks!

The day-light saving schedule ,for this year, affected the start of this race for the first time in many decades. The last hour of this race was so sureal in nature that, I suspect Disney has once again found a way to mix things up in a way that most of us would not suspect. They truly wish to speed us down they're "funnel of no return" at ever increasing speed. The Nascar official who raised that final green flag, was doing nothing more than what he was trained to do. What he was trained to do is not as important as who trained him.Disney must answer to that and Disney is the culprit behind these 'seemingly small' blunders.

Hi, my little girl messed with the front panel in the truck (Dodge Durango 2002) and after that, the truck pulls funny and just drives different. The knob was turned to "4lo" and the orange light for it is on. When I turn it to 2w its green light just blinks and the "4lo" light is still on, but there is no difference in how it drives and pulls.
I can't find the manual for the truck. I was wondering if any one out there can please, pretty please help me get my truck back to normal? I don't want to drive it anywhere like this and I'm not a auto savvy kind of person. Thank you :)

Jonny's goldfish

Little Jonny was in the garden filling in a hole when his neighbor peered over the fence.

Interested in what the rosy-cheeked youngster was up to, he politely asked, "What are you up to there, Jonny?"

"My goldfish died," replied Jonny tearfully, without looking
up, "and I've just buried him."

The neighbor was concerned, "That's an awfully big hole for a goldfish, isn't it?"

Jonny patted down the last heap of earth then replied, "That's because he's inside your cat!"

If rape, robbery, home invasion, murder and much more are happening and Mexico knows they are criminals shouldn't these people be able to sue? Also since the governments (last ten presidents) knew about this shouldn't a fence have been built. Should we cut off aid to Mexico or take out to pay the victims? Should Mexico police their own people and give us rap sheets on them so we can pick them up if possible or just turn a blind eye and go to the mall?

I have a friend who is trying to move into an apartment in Illinois and who is having some trouble. The apartment in question needed new carpet badly(previous tenant had cats) and it hadn't been replaced in over ten years. There were also some other safety issues such as bare electrical wires, a broken window, and also a possible rodent issue(there were mouse droppings & fur inside the stove). My friend had put down the deposit and the landlord said that he would replace the carpet. Well its been almost three weeks and the landlord didnt remove the carpet as he agreed he would, my friend ended up removing it himself. Since then the landlord agreed to put new down(this was almost 5 days ago) and no one had shown up to lay new carpet. Also when my friend brought the other issues to the landlords attention, the landlord stated that none of the issues were his concern. I am wondering is there some state law or better business thing that we can use or enact to get help in solving this?

He cheated on me 5 months ago. We are still trying to get passed it. I keep thinking that if he goes to boot camp or wherever he's going, that he will cheat on me again. Should I be worried? What is it like? Is it likely that he will interact with women a lot? Is there a chance that he could actually hook up with someone? He keeps telling me I have nothing to worry about. Please help me. Serious answers please...

A feminist is someone who is fighting against discrimination directed at women. Period.

This means that feminists are fighting for ALL women - conservative and liberal alike. So why is it that conservative women try to smear feminists?

I have about 100 credits (pretty much all various science and G.E.) from 3 different colleges. I signed up for Nuke and want to go on a sub. I was thinking that becoming an officer would be a good idea. I figured I might be a few classes shy of a degree and could maybe attain one in two years (after Nuke school of course). Would I then have to re-up my contract? And what would the chances of even being able to go officer be?
