I used to live with a white girl. I know in her case, that without a whole lot of care and attention her hair is nothing but a frizzled nappy mess. Forget about running fingers through it.

Black women catch a lot of flack for straightening their hair. But I dont think its to be white. Because white women's hair isn't straight either (many of them also use a flat iron). So it seems to me all women straighten their hair.

DO you choose a perfume by
1) you smell it on someone and ask what it is.?
2)you look at the bottles and choose what would look nice on your bedside table?
3) choose something you have seen on TV but have never smelt but buy it because of the Celebrity/designer etc that promotes it? Tell the truth on this one !!!
4)Test them out at the shop and see which your friends/BF like?
5) something else?

Yesterday afternoon my mother and I went to the Stark County Humane Society and we adopted a 5 year-old Maine Coon called Smokey Joe. We'd had our eye on him for nearly a month, and my mother's husband just gave us the OK to get him. However, we noticed that his adoption fee had been reduced to 15 dollars, and he had been neutered.
But this morning we noticed that Smokey Joe has no front claws. The Humane Society had said nothing about this operation, and my mother and I remember that he had claws the first time we'd seen him, because he'd playfully scratched my hand. (Like I cared, we live with 16 other cats!)
All of our other cats have their claws and go outside when they ask to be let out.
We will not be giving Smokey Joe back to the Humane Society because I just love him...
But do you have any advice for taking care of a newly-adopted and newly-neutered/declawed 5 year old male cat? I know he'll have to stay inside, but is there more to it than that?

for something else. If everything from Adam to Jesus asking himself why he had forsaken himself is nothing but a metaphor, why would christians take it litterally in the first place?

Why would god not just say what he means?

If you are going to cover the Earth with water deep enough to cover mount Ararat, then you need over a 2 mile depth.

Noah spent over a year on the ark, so salty water covered the Earth for about a year.

So, how did any vegetation survive being covered with a depth of 2 miles of salt water for about a year? (At least 5 months from the start of the flood to the ark coming to rest at an altitude of about 2 miles)

Also what did the animals eat after getting off the ark? If there was no vegetation then the herbivores die.

If God performs another miracle and causes all the vegetation to just survive, then with only 2 herbivores of most species (or even worse, 'kinds') would there have not been an extinction event each time a carnivore got hungry?

In recent news it has been reported that Brits are pulling their own teeth because there are not enough dentists.

There are also reports on high death tolls from infections contracted while in the hospital because of unsanitary conditions. This is a result of lack of funding which causes a staffing shortage.

How is this better than what we have here in the USA?

I have an example; some of my relatives are worry worts and were real crazy about the cell phone radiation brain cancer thing. When the results were coming out that you were very much unlikely to get brain cancer from your cell phone they still wouldn't believe it and said, "oh that's not true. they don't know what they are talking about."

Can someone please explain why some people are like this?

Who watched Good Morning America this morning? The lady from that Paws place was on it and was being very rude about Ellen. She said that she didnt tell Ellen how to run her show so Ellen was not going to tell her how to do her job. She also said that she has been receiving death threats ever since the show aired. It is crazy. Maybe if she would have left that dog alone she wouldnt be in this situation.

Doesn’t that sound rather imperfect for a god to say? It sound petty and childish to me and those aren't attributes of a god.

I am getting married next summer. My fiance and I have been living together for three years now, so we have everything we need for a home in regards to items that are typically purchased as wedding gifts (appliances, silverware, towels, etc). I don't really want to set up a typical gift registry because there's nothing I need, and I'm not too crazy about the idea of getting things I'll never use, like extras of what I already have, monogrammed towels, or a set of china. I saw on a bridal website the concept of setting up a fund account with a financial institution where wedding guests can opt instead to donate to a "house down payment" in lieu of a tangible gift. My fiance and I have been living in the same apartment the whole time and with a 15 month old son and another due in 5 weeks, everyone that knows us knows we can't afford a house on our own. I like this idea but I don't know if it would be considered inappropriate. But I really don't need any gifts. Thoughts?
