I have an example; some of my relatives are worry worts and were real crazy about the cell phone radiation brain cancer thing. When the results were coming out that you were very much unlikely to get brain cancer from your cell phone they still wouldn't believe it and said, "oh that's not true. they don't know what they are talking about."

Can someone please explain why some people are like this?

That is easy.... for just about any study you find in support of your position, the other side can find one in support of theirs.

Worse, how often do they come out with these studies that say something is safe (or dangerous) only to reverse it a few years later? It happens a lot, so it makes it difficult to believe anything these days, especially if it is something you are not inclined to believe!

EXPERIENCE BABY.

I have a project for you that will fix your problem.
Go find out who, and how these medical studies are concocked.
Who are they and who are they to say. AND when they are wrong how do they share the new info.

Follow your elders, they are not without knowledge. They may not talk as fast as you but they have a point you should consider from time to time. Just because some jerk made up a study doesn't mean its worthy of your blind faith.
