If I am not wrong Solid hardwood is one piece hardwood, engineering is multiple peice sheets glued on top of each other and Laminated is just plastic. Please correct me.

Here is my situation. I just purchased townhouse, which has ceramic tiles installed and I want to replace it with hardwood. I will be staying in this house for approx 5 years and I want to install something that look good for these 5 years, which can also help me in selling after 5 years and does not require me to spend couple of thousand dollar every couple of years to maintain/polish it or change it.
Total area I am considering would be around 400 sq ft including living room and common area and does not include dining or kitchen.
I don't want to spend lot of money but also don't want to get something that look cheap (now or after couple of years of use).
http://www.epinions.com/Pergo_Laminate_Flooring/display_~reviews
this site says that laminate has problem of scratches too.
Please suggest among these three types.

I asked a question moments ago stating in the details that I believe in evolution (and am an atheist) but had considered sending my children to Christian school because my boyfriend is Christian and they may offer a better education. (Note: I said 'considered'.)

I received this response:

'They do let people know what nonsense is out there. I'm sure schools of all sorts do.

You know your boss didn't handle Himself well maybe but I would listen to him. Don't send your kid to a Christian school if they are not being taught at home. The others will suffer.

Christian schools have strict guidelines. They memorize verses (I'm sure to your horror) they have chapel, and focus around why we do things and not other things. It is a cleaner environment You will not here the f word and cuss words. If you curse at home and your kid is exposed to all kinds of junk there will be nothing of interest for them there.'

Sat night my husband was driving the PA turnpike, following group of cars (ours being last of the group) when I saw a cop car parked on the shoulder WITHOUT LIGHTS. We passed, there was another group of cars coming behind us & I saw her turn on her headlights and moving into the group of traffic behind us. I told my husband to just slide in between other cars on the right lane but he didn't think it was for us since everyone on the road was doing 80 at 65mph zone.

She pulled up right behind us and turned on the sirens. I told him to just move over to the right lane and follow since it seems like she's just fishing for cars to pull over. But he pulled over to the shoulder (don't know why!!). So she tickets us for doing 82 on 65. i asked her if she can give us fine and not points, she says she's never heard of such thing.

*do I have a chance fighting this ticket in court?
*can I request a copy of the radar reading at 82?
Thank you!!

I have recently discovered that my cats have fleas. I was wondering if flea collars prevent them from getting fleas or can they also get rid of fleas as well?

A wooden board is placed so that it leans against a loading dock to provide a ramp.

The board is supported by a metal beam perpendicular to the ramp and placed on a 1 ft. tall support.

The bottom of the support is 8 feet from the point where the ramp meets the ground.

The slope of the ramp is 2/5 (this means that for every 2 feet it goes up, it goes 5 to the side).

Find the length of the beam to the nearest hundredth of a foot. Note that the 1 ft. support is vertical, but the metal beam is not.
_____

The answer I got was 2.24 feet.

I took the point where the support meats the beam and
the point where the beam meets the ramp and used the distance formula.

By using those points, I can make a right triangle with a base
of 1 and a side of 2. Using the Pythagorean theorem, 1^2 + 2^2 = c^2, the hypotenuse
of the right triangle is sqrt(5) or 2.24 feet. So, the length of the metal beam
is 2.24 ft

This is a good first try. Please work through this one again, showing me ALL your wor

i read and hear so often that the new spouse usually says, his/her ex is crazy, no good, cheated, only wants money and so on. but when you ask, how they know, its usually: he/she told me all about it. now i am not saying you should doubt your partner, but arent there often two sides of the story? anyways, does it make the new spouse feel better about themselves to talk bad about the ex ? and cant they understand if they were left behind for someone else they might act exact the same way as the ex? opinions?

this question and answer volley is a perfect example of two serious minds working to make a point.. frankly it doesn't matter where your loyalties lie,... this investigation should be ongoing and independent because the reality is.... there is much that has yet to be acknowledged and discussed..

Marvin Bush's job as security chief for the Trade Centers
Silvermans 'pull it"comment.
Molten steel in the basement weeks and weeks later
etc,etc,etc...

free thinkers one and all... lets talk about this horrible event without partisan bickering..
it's too damn important for ego trips to get in the way..
