We have 5 children! Four of our children have dark brown eyes: two of them have dark brown hair and the other two have light brown hair. Our youngest son aged 18 months has blonde hair and blue eyes. This has taken us by suprise, because all of our distant relations also have brown eyes and brown/light brown hair, we thought maybe he would only keep it for a short while but it is still there. He is a lovely little boy and we love him very much but we just wonder why he is so different to the rest of us. (Any scientists out there?)

The house I have seen has cavity walls throughout the main 1930's house, but the kitchen extension has been built at a later date.

The kitchen does not have a cavity wall, it just has a solid red brick wall.

Would this stop me being able to get a mortgage on this property?

Also are there any relevant websites you could refer me too?

Thank you for any answers.

I have the equivalent of about £10,000 in a savings account in a bank in New Zealand. Since I've now come to the realisation that I'm never going back to New Zealand and will be staying in the UK permanently, I'd like to bring this money to the UK. What's the best way to do this to avoid paying unnecessary bank fees, foreign exchange commission, etc? Is there anything I need to know, such as are there restrictions on how much money you can bring into the UK at one time?

Obviously if Islam can co-exist with Christians and Jews in the HOME then outside the home would be even easier !

This is something I just might not ever understand. You see parents on here all the time and in 'real' life who have troubled kids. They are throwing fits, they are cranky, and all of the family is just tired of the behavior.

The parents just want to know what they should do when the problem occurs. They don't want to change their own behavior or modify anything during their day. In other words they don't want to prevent the issues occurring.

I don't understand. The first question I ask myself when my son acts up is WHY is he acting up. Of course there are times that are just unexplainable but most of the time I can point my finger on it. "Oh, he's misbehaving because it's 11:00 and he is hungry. We should've waited until after lunch and his nap before going out..." Not as an excuse but a reminder not to do it again.

Am I the only one who thinks the way I am reflects how my children behave?

If you are one who doesn't believe in prevention--why?

Thanks!

I'm thinking of going on holiday to Crete with my partner and his three year old son. We've never been to Crete before, but have heard that Georgioupolis is a nice village to stay in.

I'd like to know what people think of Georgioupolis who have been there previously. I know there is a nice beach, but is there much else to do?

My boyfriend is very upset that one of his friends committed suicide yesterday afternoon by hanging himself. I know I just need to be there for him as this is very hard for him to understand. Were in our late 20's and he just doesn't understand how life could be so bad for someone that they could do such a thing. He feels very bad because he is the one who called the brother and told him of the bad news, and the brother didn't know yet. The family hadn't called and told the other sister and brothers yet, but we live in a small town and we had what seemed like a million phone calls. So he basically wanted to make sure it wasn't a rumor. And why did the mother not call the other siblings for hours afterwards to inform them of the sons death and let him find out through friends? How can I make my bf feel like he didn't do anything wrong by calling the brother and asking if it was true? He feels horrible for being the bearer of bad news.
