I'm moving to the St. Petersburg, FL area in January and am looking for a decent apt in the area. I'll be working on my PhD at USF St Pete and would like to live within 20 minutes or so from there. I'm not looking to spend a ton. Any suggestions on good neighborhoods/towns/etc? Thanks!

I am in my schools German Club (Students who are enrolled in german class), and we every year have sold German gummi candy (Haribo Roulette). And we got word that we could not this year, supposedly b/c it is "unhealthy", where as the school store, which sells everything from t-shirts to contact paper, can sell things like 3 Muskateers, and Blow Pops, even Fruit Roll-Ups! Is this right? Is there anything that we can do about it?

My man just left for his Army training. He won't be home until Feburary. He's in the Reserves and is Military Police. I'm a little worried about deployment though. I don't know the chances of him being deployed and how soon. He was told that it isn't a matter of "if" but a matter of "when". But I'm stressing over how soon when is. I mean, will it be a few months, a couple years? I hate living with these questions.

Does anyone have expierence with this and can let me know what I might be in store for in the future?

...my name would be "i Vote 4 funny (atheist)"

I constantly see people inaccurately assuming the religion or belief of another person and then questions never get answered as they would have been. In fact, I've seen confusion of a person's beliefs cause people to completely misinterpret their question or answer. I think we all have. Haven't you?

I wonder if making what you are absolutely obvious would help the R&S community make progress toward the end of mutual understanding and acceptance. Or if that would just take some of the fun out of it.

I guess you could always add a statement to the end of your question like, "but that's just hypothetical, because I don't believe in that," or something along those lines, but I think constantly using qualifiers is, well, kind of gay.

What do you think?

I currently owe $13,000 on my car and according to the Kelley Blue Book...my car's trade-in value is $10,280. But I want to trade it in for a car that would probably be around $7-8,000 worth. How does a car trade-in work in my situation?

Why is it that everything that Christians attribute to God (i.e. answered prayers, miracles, communication with God, weather, etc.) can also be explained by natural causes and/or luck? Christians, even if you insist that God is responsible for these things, you cannot deny that it is at least possible for them to be explained by natural causes and/or luck. For example, if a cancer victim defies 1,000 to 1 odds and lives, you can at least argue that the person just happened to be the 1 out of the 1,000. Or, if a Christian is having a hard time deciding which career path to take, so they pray about it and end up making a decision, couldn’t someone at least argue that the person was simply using their own logic and talking out loud helped them organize their thoughts and think clearly? Do you think God set up the world so that it would be difficult for humans to tell whether things happened because of natural causes or because of divine intervention? In other words, how come nothing happens today that is undeniably the work of God?

People say there's no way to win a war against a religious based ideology nor an enemy that blends in with the rest of the cultures.
This idea really isn't true. The people of the USA are just not willing to do what it takes to rid the planet of these terrorist. That being wage the war exactly like WWII, massive death and destruction.
These terrorists weren't the first to fly airplanes into targets and blow themselves up just to kill others. The Japanese did exactly the same thing during WWII. The Japanese had exactly the same notion in their heads that they would go to a special place in heaven if they sacrificed their lives to kill the enemy.
In the last year of the war in Europe, just the Allied aerial bombing alone killed almost 700,000 civilians in Germany and left tens of millions homeless. This type of death and destruction is what takes the will to wage war out of the population of the enemy.
This surgical war they are trying to wage against terror will not work. All it will do is bring more people into the enemy's fold. The middle-east, particularly the radical countries like Iran, Syria, Jorden, Pakistan, and mayeb even Saudi Arabia, need to be bombed into the stone age. Every city needs to be leveled. Massive civilian deaths must occur. Only this way will the people of that area want peace, just as the Japanese did after a few atoms bombs fell from the sky.
The people of the USA can't live with that much death on their hands, however.

I have made previous posts so all you have to do is read my earlier question for a briefing on this subject. However in short, I went AWOL from the army 3 years ago. I was only in the army for about 5 months I never made it to my unit. Since then I have regretted my decision but I have had to live with it. I am constantly depressed even though I have terrific friends and family around me and a good job. During these 3 years of being awol or whatever I have been pulled over and ticketed had to go to court. I have bought a house, filed taxes, paid off the 800 dollar debt that I owed the govt for paying me after I left the army. So after recieving a lot of helpful answers these past 3 days I called the GI Rights hotline today, and then called the army deserter line. The E-4 specialist told me that when he entered me into the computer that there was no felony or warrant out for me??? He said that when he searched for me using the web locator of the armys that I come up seperated 2004???
