I know this sounds really sad!! But ive been single for 18 months (and counting)..after being in a relationship for 8 yrs.. Nd i never meet anyone..I go out with my friends most wkends, nd i neva see not even one guy..I go to the gym, no guys there.. please tell me were all the hot male species are hiding...x

O MY GOD you are in the same boat as me , i have been single for 18months to lol i go out with my friends and go to the gym and so on and i cant find one decent lady at all . all my friends have got girlfriends and so on i asked all of them to come on holiday with me and they turned me down so iam goen on my own lol . loads of people keep on telln me that shell turn up one day but is that one day comen lol erm i dont now what to tell you for advice like because i am still tryen just like you lol if you fancey a chat with me drop me a email x

I think you are going to have to bite the bullet and try internet dating......there R many good web-sites. For example
Craigslist
Dating Direct
Match.Com and those are just the ones I know about. Unfortunately, all the other answers you got are true to a certain extent, however, they fail to take into account the following:-
1. If you really want to meet someone...you can't wait for someone to just come along!!!!!!!!!
2. More and more people access their dating life online which means people you meet out and about, (as it were), are less likely to "sweep you off your feet" and rely instead on their internet ads. It's the sign of the times. I would try a mixture of social life and online. (That goes for the guy in the same boat as you).

WHOPEE DOOO, i'm 24 and still haven't gone out with anyone, people are so obsessed about being seen with a boyfriend, there is so much pressure in todays society and if you've never had a boyfriend by the time you are in your twenties people act like its the end of the world,its ridiculous, you will find someone else in time.

That depends upon your age and location. If your under 25, most men are playing Halo 3, going to dance clubs, bars, the beach. If your in the 26-40 year old category try bookstores, sports events (football, baseball,etc), grocery stores, Best Buy, Circuit City, and Home Depot. If your over 41, well honestly I have no clue.

You will meet someone when you least expect it. Be happy with who you are and do things for your benefit, such as the gym rather than seeing it as a place to met a fella. Once you project happy and sorted, a fella will find you when least expected. People are attracted to happy, confident people.

IDK. It is in the places where you least expect it but I really think that you shouldn't look for them. Just hang out and have fun with your friends and a guy will come up to YOU when you least expect it. Just give possitive vibes and they'll be atracted to you like bugs to a bug zapper. If all else fails just go to parties. A lot of Parties. places where you KNOW there will be lots of people.

You go out on a weekend and not see any guys... Your either hanging around gay bars, church organisations or not going to the right bars and pubs...
Your standards may be too exacting and your looking for someone who ticks all the right boxes... lower the bar.
