I have heard people say fish isn't meat since the 1960s when I was in grade school. I remember being annoyed when the Catholic kids said that even though I wouldn't be a vegetarian for another 20 years. (It was a public school, but we had a lot of Catholic kids, and the cafeteria served fish on Friday to accomodate them).

I keep on correcting people who say they are vegetarian and eat fish (or birds or whatever), and it's obvious I'm fighting a losing battle. People apparently don't read dictionaries anymore, they just make up definitions for words and then the dictionary eventually changes due to popular definition--that's the way it works in the USA.

Why fight it? If somebody asks me, I'll just say I'm a lacto-herbivore. With any luck it will never catch on. Even if it does, I will probably be dead by the time American celebrities start say "I'm an herbivore but I eat fish."

I recently bought a home. Now I have room to entertain. I thought it would be nice to have my soon to be 81 year old mother and my 86 year old father along with my kids and my sister to a nice family dinner.
I just received an email that my mom told my first cousin, whom I'm not close with, about the dinner at my house which happens to be close to where he lives. He wants to see my parents. She more or less invited him to join us. I really wanted to make this just immediate family, and she should have asked me before she invited him. It isn't a big deal to have one more person and it is her birthday. I just think she used poor judgment and I'm a little mad. What should I do?

I have stayed home this year to go back to school. I worked last year and got the EIC. I am married. Do I need to go back to work to be able to get a larger EIC? Does it matter on if both parents work or just on the income of the family? There are 5 kids...I usually claim 2 and my husband claims the other 3. We file jointly. Does it make a difference if I work or do not work??

I need something to clean my wood floors, my WHOLE house is wood floors besides the kitchen,dining room,and bathrooms.I have tried orange glo,pledge wood floor cleaner and polisher and murphy's oil soap,and nothing seems to really clean them,after it dries there is a build up on them and they are still dull and don't shine,although the orange glo kind of made them shine but it is sooo expensive now.Anyone have any ideas??

i just installed win2k pro on my sister's computer (upgrading from winME, winXP would not set up properly) win2k installed with no problem (did clean install, reformatted to NTFS)

the only problen now is her video card. she has an nVIDIA 32MB GeForce2 MX 4X video card (the computer is a Dell Dimension 4100, like from 2001 or 02) and nVIDIA no longer offers the drivers for this card on their site. i tried to install a generic nVIDIA driver and now her installation is ruined (blue screen, physical memory dump or something like that) and i have to reformat/install. bleh.

anyhow, this time around, i was wondering if there's a better way to do things. is there any driver that will work??? the reason i need one is because she only has 16-color mode and 800x600 max resolution.

any help would be great. thanks=]

She was drinking before she came over and she had one beer at my house. Then after tubing she thought she would take a shower. She didn't tell me or ask. She just went in and showered.
