Representing myself as an atheist, I'm not trying to start any Internet fistfights here. But this question has always made me wonder - why are there so few atheists in the world, even today, when atheism is at an all-time high? To me, the idea of god existing, especially the Christian-described god, seems so ridiculous now, that it makes you wonder why is atheism so rare in most countries if it's so "logical" and "obvious"?

My son gave me a catfish about 5-6 in. long and very long whiskers. It some what looks like a Pimelodus Pictus but has no markings on it's tail or fins, Dark silver and gray in color.

we've been together seven years in total. He is a good father but not a great husband. he patronises me, he doesn't show any interest in what I do and he rarely ( almost never ) does things that he knows would make me happy. and i am not talking about big things here. Simple stuff, like taking a vacation together ( we've never been on holiday). I feel I am not appreciated and counted upon and I don't deserve that. I really want to be in a relationship that would have more ups than downs ( not that i am in search for a romantic relationship- far from that).

how can i switch seats? i mean like an excuse to use. in my lit/l.a classes we switched and are seating in this seating chart for the rest of the year. i am the farthest place possibly from Wyatt! and also this stuck up, cold and unfriendly girl is next to him. they are on the end. i don't want her bothering him. he knows i'm nice at least. what genius excuse can i come up with to get moved? thanks! also the "jock" next to me won't leave me alone.

My partner's mother is traveling from Mexico City to Frankfurt Germany. It is cheaper for her have a flight that makes one stop in a US city, where she would change planes and then fly to Frankfurt, rather than fly directly non-stop from Mexico City to Frankfurt. If she changes planes in the US, I believe she has to go through customs and immigration services prior to leaving for Frankfurt, Germany. Does she need to have a US visa (in addition to her passport) to change planes in the USA? A Mexican visitor to the USA needs a visa in addition to their passport to visit the USA. Does a tourist changing planes at a US airport also need a visa to pass through the USA on their way to Europe?

People say that Science is good for explaining "how" and "what", and that religion explains "why".

Why do things happen? Who knows for sure, at best we can only speculate, but for the religious fanatics out there who denounce science on the basis that it doesn't explain "why" the earth was created, or "why" was the human eye created in such a complex manner.

All I can say is why not, why wouldn't it be created. What universal law out there prevents such things from occurring on their own, no matter how complex they are given billions upon billions of years? Why is it that when people are faced with something they do not yet understand, they find the need to say that a "God" did it. Is it not possible that there are things out there which are just so advanced and so far beyond us that we as humans could never possibly comprehend it, but does that mean it was made by God?

If you showed a cave man a lighter, he would think you were a God. Are we cavemen or are we people of logic?
