Drinking skim milk isnt the best if you are pregnant its really best to get 2% or even whole milk.. but it has all the nutrients and stuff so thats why its better. when they turn one years OLD they have to drink whole milk so ya kno? and about diapers if you are having a boy the best ones are huggies or pampers because they strech out the tabs do so they dont pee all over themself all the time.
I go thru maybe 8 diapers a day which isnt bad its not that expensive I get packs of 80 or 90 and they last more then a month which is good for me lol :) but every baby is so different..
Formula is quite expensive though
I go thru 2 cans a month but now 3 cans because he is eating MOre now.. newborns dont eat that much until they are a couple weeks old.
I think the best formula is the emfamil gentlease in a purple can because it doesnt make them sick of constipate them..
theres alot of good things I hear about it and now my son is on it and IM GLAD i switched him to it because hes never fussy and hes able to not have as much gas ect..
just thought id let you kno that too!
w/ diapers and formula a month u shouldnt have to spend more then 60 bucs a month.

I spend like 45-50 between there and the extra money i have I spend on clothes and other fun things hehe.. wipes.. THEY GO THRU MORE wipes more then anything !!!!!!
but I wish you the best luck...

you can stay with your skim milk if you want to although 1 and 2% have more fat which is good while your pregnant. Diapers I personaly was spending 70 bucks a month at first when he grew out of the small one and i kepts going up bigger it ranged from 80 to 90 and than when he was one in half it was almost 100 month until he was potty trained.
Formula was a different story with wic (women Infants and children) I didnt spend any 9 cans went a long time when he was frist born but after a while 9 cans didnt go that far and i was spending 40 bucks a month. from what i say on the wic checks when it cashed out it was well over 100 bucks just for a months worth of formula. If its possible for you go on the wic program it lasts til they are 5. And they cover wic while you are pregnant. Good luck and congrats

For the first month or so, you'll go through 8 to 10 diapers a day. Just buy a case of diapers, and that might get you through the month.

As for the skim milk, what's the point? Go for at least 2% if not whole for all the fats, proteins, calcium, vitamin D and all that crazy stuff. When you switch baby to cow's milk at one year, you need to go to whole milk, so might as well get used to it!

My doctor told me that if I drank milk, it needed to be whole milk when I was pregnant and nursing. I don't know if that was just her opinion, or if there was something wrong with the skim, but that's what I was given.

As for diapers, I bought the Wal-Mart brand with the largest amount they offered (68 or something like that, not exactly sure but it was the largest amount they sold), and I went through one of those every week in the beginning. It was $11 per bag of diapers. Toward the end it was one bag every two weeks.

I only had the babysitter supplement with formula, but that was calculated into the babysitting costs, so I don't remember on that one. (Sorry!)

- Skim milk is fine to drink during pregnancy! (unless you have a lactose intolerance of course!)

- Diapers...figure roughly 8-10 per day so about $15 a week or so (plus the cost of baby wipes) We used pampers at first, which were just fine...then we switched to huggies and I really like those! We had ONE disastrous day where we tried generic diapers...every single one leaked!

- We never used formula so I can't be very helpful there!

I'm in Australia so I dont think I can give you a money answer but we went through around 7-10 nappies every day for about the first 6 weeks but in that 6 weeks, my kids were breastfed so were doing poo's after nearly every feed, I'm not sure if formula fed babies do that cause both my kids stopped pooing that much when I put them on formula.
My friend formula fed her babies and the nurses told her to buy 2-4 cans of formula before she had the baby that way if she didnt get the chance to get out in the first few weeks she'd have enough to get her through.

Good luck with everything! :)

1] milk - YOU can drink whole, low fat, or skim if you want to, as long as you are eating enough calories and enough from each food group.
2] the baby needs to go from breast/bottle to WHOLE MILK, to provide enough healthy fats for optimal neurological development [ brain, IQ, etc. ]
3] some babies pee all the time, but on average they pee and/or poop every feeding. My first ate every two hours [ 12 x a day ], and my second every three hours [ 8 x a day ]. Those are just average numbers. Sometimes I changed 14 diapers a day [ one kid ].
4] both my kids drank four ounces a feed AT LEAST by one month [ total at least 32 ounces ], and six a feed by three
months [ 48 ounces a day ].

as far as the milk goes i would say , if u don't like 1 or 2% u don't ahve to drink it! as long as you are taking in other sources of calcium ,and take your prenatal vitmins Everyday!!
Like Yogurt , Cheese Etc.! As far as Diapers , i have two boys! my youngest is 5 months! i would say i wen trhough with both my babies , around 120-210 diapers a month the first month , the older they get the less they poop so that number will get smaller! which cost my husband around 40 bucks a month , ( not bad at all , and name brand diaper s ) firm beilvers in ONLY Pampers / No Huggies or Luvs!

Hope this Helps!
Good Luck!

i would say stick to skim it is better for the baby and doesn't give u or the baby any unneeded baby-fat.But u will go through ALOT of diapers! My aunt went though 12 super bulk boxes a month.so save up any extra change it would come in handy.I'm not sure about the formula everyone in my family breast -feeds(best for the baby).
good luck! enjoy having a adorable baby around!

all of my pregnancy nutrition books say to drink skim or low fat milk. if you like skim, stay with it. you get all the calcium and vitamin d that you would w/ whole. i personally like 1 percent and that's what i drink. save the calories by drinking skim or low-fat so you can have something better than milk! you should only be comsuming 300 extra calories while you're pregnant.
