Usually when you're 18. Uncle Sam generally doesn't take minors. Are they even registering for the draft? I did, but it was in 1978. All I did was go to the post office and fill out a card. At that time they had just reinstated draft registration. Since there is currently no draft, your chances of getting drafted any time soon are slim and none because reinstating the draft would take an epic battle of congress. You probably wouldn't see it happen, because there is so much opposition to the war in Iraq that even Republicans are starting to jump ship. No politician in their right mind is going to vote to reinstate the draft if it means that hundreds of thousands of 18 year olds would be eligible for military service and a free ride direct to Iraq the day after they get out of high school. That would be political suicide. Graduate from hight school, go to college, and pray that this stupid war ends soon or you reach age 25 before the draft becomes an issue.
