With a war going on and all the crap going on in the world, i noticed a lot of Christian voters only seem to care wether a candidated supports school prayer, or some other non-issue. Aren't there more important issues to base their votes on?

Look at the 2004 election and how Karl Rove played the gay marriage issue in several states. The object was to please the Religious Right and also not deal with real issues like the war, taxes or the economy.

This is ridiculous. It's simply untrue. You're cherry picking something that may happen occasionally and speaking as if it's the norm. I'm a Christian voter, my family and friends are Christians voters and I can't even recall a single incident in which one of us voted based on a specifically Christian topic to the exclusion of other issues. And I'm quite sure national statistics back me up.

The *intelligent* question would be-- why do some people vote on single issues-- regardless of their persuasion. There are THOUSANDS of people who vote exclusively PRO abortion OR ANTI abortion regardless of other issues.

A lot of the troubles of the last 40+ years can be traced to the removal of prayer from school, and the subsequent removal of the 10 Commandments. The war happens to be righteous in that it is against an enemy that would remove what freedoms you have left and force you to bow to Mecca. You need to see what is behind the issues you care about. There are causative factors.

For Samantha: Jesus didn't teach "tolerance" when it comes to sin, to those things that separate us from Him. He was very intolerant of sin.

For bronzediva: Once and for all, I would like just one person who claims that "separation of church and state is in the Constitution" to show me where it is.

Don't put every Christian in that box...as far as ten commandments in court houses and prayer in school, those are two issues that are way far down the list in my mind, if not off of my list of important issues altogether...Last time I checked Jesus was more interested in loving people, and serving the poor. Seems to me that abortion, gay marriage, etc, etc. are the least of our worries when we have families that can't even make it, people who have no hope, and all at the same time the rich keep getting richer. I understand many Christians are very ignorant when it comes to politics but please don't typecast all of us!!

I think that most Christian voters are patriotic and are concerned with making America stronger. Only the extreme right wingnuts are trying to force their religious beliefs on the rest of us.

After all, Jesus taught tolerance of others. Just try to find a right wing "Christian" that supports that.

I am a Christian. I am a conservative. I look for the best conservative candidate, regardless of his religious views. My vote will go to the candidate who is dedicated to national security, fighting the war against terrorists, stopping illegal immigration.

Politicians and special interests spin non-issues and make them the focus every election. I think all voters seem to get caught up in this.

They don't know the Constitution well enough to understand that it calls for a separation of Church and State. So they keep trying to impose their values on the entire country.
