I understand our galaxy is called The Milky Way, and the planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and so on. But what is our solar system called? Do you think if we discover more solar systems out there were going to name ours?

What you see in that picture is a horse bleeding to death. It's happening in a city in Romania. He was hit by a car and his owner decided to kill him to get rid of him. The only way he could think of doing that, was by cutting its throat....
This is happening in a European Union country that has absolutely no valid laws to protect animals from any form of cruelty or suffering. A country where people of all ages find pleasure and enjoyment in beating animals to death, burning them alive, cutting their throats or ripping their bellies. A country where stray dogs are collected from the streets only to be killed by barbarian methods: locked in a cell and starved to death, gassed or poisoned....
The worst that can happen in Romania to someone who hurts, tortures or kills an animal is to get a fine. That is, to pay a certain amount of money. In most cases, he will escape even that. Do you think that's fair? Is it possible to assess a life's worth in the amount of the fine???...

ok, god loves us all... Yet he lets us suffer... He wants us all to get into heaven, but he decides to mindlessley let us ponder around earth doing what ever we want. God want's us to be happy, but he restricts us from the things that make us happy. God exists, but he never even bothers to let you know he is there. God has everything, but he gives us so little. Why is that?

The accepted version of the Holocaust Saga has remained the same despite the fact that many aspects of it have been discredited:

1) Take Auschwitz-Birkenau: The patent lie given by the Soviets that 4 million (based on forced confessions) were killed there is not held by anyone today: the latest estimate is 800,000 - and it is also acknowledged that most of those died due to disease and natural causes. The "gas chambers" ( which are reconstructions built by the "scrupulous" Soviets) are now conceded may actually be fakes. The horrific site of the ovens/crematoria is less so when you consider that this was the most effective way to dispose of corpses with disease.
Moreover, the traces of cyanide found are only those required for delousing and disinfectant purposes.

The damning "Wansee conference minutes" too do not mention any word of systematic genocide but rather of evacuation of Jews to camps in the east pending final settlement after the war.

These are but a few examples.

no understanding of how science works.

So far today I've been told that scientists created the diseases that we have to cure (Yes Just Me it was you) - mmmm Cancer, flu, bacterial infections, smallpox, measles, mumps, cholera - yeah right, scientists developed all these during the biological war of 2000BC. Most require treatment.

I've had someone ask (yes John D it was you *sigh*) where the energy for the universe came from, that there is no explanation for it - obviously Einstein's most simple equation was lost on him!

That God created medicine. This is a real doozy. Did God then create the theory of evolution too. I thought that the father of medicne is regarded to be hippocrates - hence the hipocratic oath. Now he was Greek and worshipped false Gods.

i try so hard to stay out of his way...that i end up...locking myself inside my own room the moment he arrives from school ...around 4pm...then i start drinking...more often than i usually did =(
whenever we accidentally bump into each other inside the house...he stares at me like he wants to attack me!...
sometimes...i'd have weird dreams...he's right outside my room...waiting...viciously...right outside my door..staring...violently at me while i'm sleeping...
he's only almost 14.

If you are American, have you ever travelled outside of the US? Have you gone to a country that you heard was so horrible only to discover that it was nothing like what the news and papers made it out to be? I've been to Pakistan multiple times. I'm American, born and raised. Half Irish and half German. And I'm going again October 7th. On my first trip there, I was scared out of my mind. But now, I am comfortable with going anywhere I want to there and knowing I'll be OK.

Why do people get these stereotypes? Have you been to someplace you'd only heard bad things about only to discover that those were either in tribal areas (where you never ever went and which were few and far between) or that it was uncommon? What was your experience?

I'm having a lot of problems lately - my life has become increasingly stressful and I'm dealing. On top of that, I'm having a lot of problems with my husband, and with my family. Depression is overwhelming me. I was wondering if anyone could give me any pick-me-ups that work for them when they're feeling down. I'd really appreciate it.
