no understanding of how science works.

So far today I've been told that scientists created the diseases that we have to cure (Yes Just Me it was you) - mmmm Cancer, flu, bacterial infections, smallpox, measles, mumps, cholera - yeah right, scientists developed all these during the biological war of 2000BC. Most require treatment.

I've had someone ask (yes John D it was you *sigh*) where the energy for the universe came from, that there is no explanation for it - obviously Einstein's most simple equation was lost on him!

That God created medicine. This is a real doozy. Did God then create the theory of evolution too. I thought that the father of medicne is regarded to be hippocrates - hence the hipocratic oath. Now he was Greek and worshipped false Gods.

Sweeping statement! Typical of an atheist incidentally.
Try reading 'in 6 days: why 50 scientists choose to believe in creation.' These are real scientists with real qualifications who can see that we need to have another look at the evidence, and have therefore done so, and have concluded logically that the Bible is accurate on this.
But I have a feeling you're not looking for a balanced view, which makes me wonder why are asking questions. could it be you fancy yourself as a mischeif maker?

It's very rude to dismiss the evidence of perfectly good science based on your own prejudice. It's not even scientific.

I think we all need to give and take a bit here. I being agnostic acknowledge the scientific evidence behind evolution, big bang etc however there are still many things that scientists can't explain such as what caused the big bang? what was before the big bang and where the first molecules which set the whole chain of events into operation came from.

Also how did life first appear on earth and how did us humans become so far advanced to any other animal on earth? all relevant questions which leave the door open to the possibility that a god is infact in someway influencing the development of the human race and the universe

The science is not the only way of knowing. You do not have to understand how science works in order to be saved. You need to believe John 3:16.

The ancient Sumerians had female doctors who fixed eye cataracts. Does that mean the Sumerian gods were right? Scientific knowledge is not akin to religious knowledge. The ancient Americans for instance were brilliant astronomers and mathematicians but they believed the sun was fueled by human blood. The ancient Babylonians solved quadratic linear equations over 5,000 years ago. But does this knowledge mean their religious beliefs were equally valid?

"God created medicine"
I have to wonder what his stipulations for survival were - he really has a thing against poverty stricken people doesn't he? Why would he create a disease and then create medicine - wouldnt any rational mind, especially an omniscience one, simply decide not to create disease in the first place or eradicate it completely?
Ah the wonderful logic of the theologian!

I admire your cuase of trying to argue faith with logic this morning.

You are doomed to failure as now matter what logic you present, its easy to answer that it is faith, or some magical man in the sky that can do anything.

Logic and religion fell out years ago and you won't win this one, but well done for trying!
