So apparently with this administration, it's not enough to send them half way around the world .. subject them to possible death or dismemberment .. force them into tour after tour .. while denying them a equal period of time home between tours.

This wouldn't happen if even some of U.S. soldiers hailed from the rich families. The burden of this war falls squarely on the backs of the poor and middle classes. Sure, it's a volunteer army and these young men and women enlist through their local recruiters. But for many in the poor and middle classes, military service is the only way to get a decent education.

You've already been caught with the Walter Reed scandal, after which time you grandstanded and promised to fix things. Why don't we send some senators kids over there to fight .. we would see some rapid changes then.

WASHINGTON - Defense Secretary Robert Gates will ask Congress Wednesday to approve nearly $190 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2008, increasing initial projections by more than a third.

In remarks prepared for a Senate hearing, Gates says the extra money is necessary to buy vehicles that can protect troops against roadside bombs, refurbish equipment worn down by combat and consolidate U.S. bases in Iraq. A copy of the remarks was obtained by The Associated Press.

In that prepared testimony, Gates said, "I know that Iraq and other difficult choices America faces in the war on terror will continue to be a source of friction within the Congress, between the Congress and the president and in the wider public debate."

"Considering this, I would like to close with a word about something I know we can all agree on — the honor, courage and great sense of duty we have witnessed in our troops since September 11th," his testimony said.

I don't wish that anyone be sacrificed or suffer in my place for sins I have committed. I reject the "gift" of salvation and I will gladly enter hell, the JUST REWARD for my actions. From there I will praise omnipresent God who permeates hell as he does everywhere else. What do you think?

its good benifits right? but everyone sits at home on the couch. not even giving it a second though. Is it because it's hard?

i try and promote the army as a good option for anyone. it teach's good skills, not only teamwork and leadership but many more. I just don't understand why someone wouldn't want to join the bundeswehr? or any other army for that matter. it is disgracefull to work hard to defend your country and then watch these movies that make it seem like you could walk through bootcamp in 2 days. My god.
news like the dis-respectfull Citizen is almost unwelcome to me as the time i heard that the United States army was issuing they're 'soldiers' "Stress cards" Lmao. even reduced the yelling. thats another thing, the US army is geting pethetic. i mean i got hit, yelled at and assaulted in every way to break me down and remake me. What's happening to the world? the world where everyone respected a good soldier? a world where everyone joined the military?

i am not for or against, i simply want you opinion please.
recently i watched something about scientology and their belief.
don't you think that God showed their prophet something or another way of worship and belief. because if you think well, what the scientologist believe and say can be true( i say, may be and not it is) and happen on a place uniquely.
the story about the aliens could be true and may be, took place in only a part on this planet. not all human being were possessed by the aliens only a few. and this was revealed through God to their prophet.
because hindus have their own beliefs, christians their own, buddhist their own and muslims (oh my God better not say anything) their exceptional way and many others like egyptians, mayas their own beliefs and systems.
but eventually all roads will go to HIM.
i want your opinion plzzzzzzzzz

The problem is that we can't be sure how much of our coal supplies are realistically extractable. By conservative estimates, we have 77 years of coal reserves left at our current consumption rate.

Of course, our consumption rate has doubled over the past 50 years, but then again, ideally we'll be moving away from coal and toward renewable energy.

I thought this was interesting because many times I've seen people claim that we have hundreds of years of coal reserves left, but this may not be the case.

Hi there, i have 2 turtles and obviously have a tank for them with water heater, filter and uv light. Do you know of anywhere i can get a uv light that can go on a timer or is there such a thing? As sometimes i dont sleep at home (never leave them for longer than 24 hrs) and dont like leaving the light on all the time but also dont like leaving it off for long periods. Any1 know of any such thing as a uv light timer for the tank pls? Thx

Okay we know there are three cities. Vegas, NY, and Miami. Which is your fav and why? For me and my wife is it is Miami. The characters just seem the most genuine and honest.
