Perhaps some of the best movies I have ever seen have to be David Fincher’s masterpiece Fight Club. Boasting one of the best twists in a film ever seen (there is some competition here with The Usual Suspects, The Sixth Sense, & Se7eN). Although the tile may impose an impression on the first-time viewer that the movie is all about men fighting to the death, this movie is something truly else. A gritty look at consumerism, capitalism, alienation, anti-socialism, and the human spirit in our society, Fight Club is now a cult classic and features great performances from scene-stealer Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helena Bonham Carter. Another great movie I have seen is OldBoy. This 2005 thriller from Korea garnered the Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes International Film Festival. Not for those who have a weak stomach, imagine OldBoy as a meditative and gritty remake of The Bourne Identity – Korean Style. A heartbreaking ending with an unexpected twist, this film remains still powerful to this day and is the film I always recommend to people who want to immerse themselves into foreign films. Great cinema.

Stephen Spielberg is possibly the greatest director of all time so I have no problem choosing his masterpiece "Schindlers List". I would give an honorable mention to Sidney Lumets' "12 Angry Men" because of the difficulty involved in holding a viewers interest for 2 hours when 90 percent of the movie is shot in a single room.
