So apparently with this administration, it's not enough to send them half way around the world .. subject them to possible death or dismemberment .. force them into tour after tour .. while denying them a equal period of time home between tours.

This wouldn't happen if even some of U.S. soldiers hailed from the rich families. The burden of this war falls squarely on the backs of the poor and middle classes. Sure, it's a volunteer army and these young men and women enlist through their local recruiters. But for many in the poor and middle classes, military service is the only way to get a decent education.

You've already been caught with the Walter Reed scandal, after which time you grandstanded and promised to fix things. Why don't we send some senators kids over there to fight .. we would see some rapid changes then.

The soldier is only worth as much as his NEXT mission.......
I read parts of your link to GAO, its labelled 'warrior treatment',
unconscious symbolism- 'would a warrior need help for ptsd?'
tough it out......
Their 'summary' is 32 pages to say its failing, bureaucrasy?
Any government that can do pre-emptive attacks, extend
mostly reservists 3 and 4 tours ,because they down-sized too far when we were 'the only worlds superpower' mentality,
lose billions of dollars in failed reconstruction no-bid contracts to cronies and deny the long term effects on a 4 tour urban war......................
is certainly capable of neglecting the fallen soldiers.
shame on us.

There wont be a draft anytime soon, unless we war with Iran, an electoion is looming and they know thats the kiss of death to electablity.

I agree with those that say that if we had a draft the armed services would be more class diversified & the war would have been already over. Sure, some of the rich & connected would have fallen through the cracks, but most of them would have had to serve. It's really fairer that way. The poor & uneducated some times have no other choice than to volunteer.

The wellness Care Act has been worked out by way of economists, accountants and financial planners to cut back the deficit for the subsequent 10 years, then strengthen it the 2nd decade after that when the financial equipment is probably in better subject.

With this administration the thought is that once you have been use3d.. and are no longer able to produce.. you are forgotten. Bush and buddies need live bodies in Iraq.. he doesn't even know who the faces are or what they do.. they are like Kleenex.. expendable.

Truth is, he is the one we should throw out with the garbage.

Oh, and by the way... he can't send his daughters.. they are planning a big white house wedding.. that we will all pay for.

You're preaching to the choir...I agree, if there were a draft, you'd see this war over soon enough...soon as the body bags start coming home to the suburbs.

roflmao!!!! GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY!!!! That is SO funny!!! An office just for accountability!! Who is in charge, Janet Reno? What's next, Bill Clinton in charge of the office for Unwed Mothers? Kennedy in charge of Ethics?

What is even funnier is that this comes out right after Hillary comes out with her government run National Health Care, when they can't even take care of a few thousand vets!

Because Republicans only need and "support" soldiers as their propaganda tools to push their wrapped pseudo patriotism that demonizes any opposition to failed policy and or leaders.

The well being, health safety, comfort and even the lives of the brave men and women in uniform don't influence their usefulness as propaganda tools so they are ultimately irrelevant to the right.

When you declare war and have no plan, do you think they think about the soldiers at all?
Its about them and their gains.
They just want you to fight, and then take of yourself.
