Hello there, I have a question regarding what is counted as an income. I currently attend a graduate school, and of course, many graduate school offer "stipends" to their students in return for them working for the department on various activities. Anyhow, I also receive the stipend and support myself out of that. Here comes the question. I was applying for a loan the other day, and my application was denied, and I was told that the stipend cannot become an source of an income. Although I took their words, I still cannot belive that a stipend cannot be counted as a source of income, because I receive it monthly, pay taxes over it and it has a salary value over it. Anyway, I'd like to hear about your thoughts on this.
