If Jesus supposedly died for ALL of the "sins", then no one has anything to worry about.
Then you respond to that with, "You have to ACCEPT Jesus". Well, there are plenty of people that have supposedly "accepted" Jesus. How can you really tell a Jesus acceptor from a non Jesus acceptor? I really don't think behavior is an indicator. And isn't "not accepting or acknowledging Jesus" a sin, and therefore covered by the Jesus insurance agency?
Does this create a double standard for Jesus acceptors? Are Jesus acceptors exempt from their law?

By condemning people to Hell and implying that their "salvation" hinges on their every "sinful" action, this negates Jesus. Where's the forgiveness then? Either it negates Jesus or it says that everyone is going to Heaven if it exists and that no one has anything to worry about. Then that means that having a "hell bound sinner" status is merely a social status matter akin to being a reprobate.

He wrote: “The man who studies theology…might watch carefully whether he increasingly does not think in the third person rather than the second person...."

I know he means to think about God in the 2nd person, as You, instead of in the 3rd person, as He/Him. But there's got to be more than that.

then why haven't they simply wished for death?

Its struck me the other day, why would you wanna live in a world with disease, worries, stress, anxiety, depression, etc etc when you can have eternal happiness in paradise?
If they really do believe that they are the chosen people and will have paradise, then why do they waste their time here? Why not just go to paradise?

Ok, for like the past year i've felt like everything i do is wrong and my friends and family would be better off with out me. Well the main reason i feel like that is because my friends are always talking about how much they hate this other girl and yet while she's around they act like her best friend because they know that nobody else likes her and they feel bad for her. Because of that im starting to feel like they secretly hate me as well. I've thought about suicide quite a few times but i would never actually do it. I do cut though and i really wanna stop however i cant tell my mom or my aunt (who i live with) because my lil sister threatened to kill herself a few weeks ago and i dont want to make them have deal with 2 potentially suicidal kids. My friends wouldn't take it seriously if i told them because a lot of people at my school cut because they think its "cool" or w/e. How can i get rid of these feelings and thoughts??

Okay, this is hard for me to talk about because I'm so disappointed. I was using my step dad's computer the other day because mine wasn't working and I found in his history A LOT of porn sites, that might not sound that bad, but my step dad is a Pastor! Let me give you a little background of my family for a min. My real brother told my mom and step dad he was gay his junior year, and they were Horrible to him, most of that was my step dad's doing, they told him he was going to hell and it's sin ect...Then I told my mom about a year ago that my boyfriend and I had been having sex for about 2 years. And she couldn't keep it a secret and told him. He said he felt like a failure as a parent, even though they both had sex before they were married. There is also a girl 22, in my church that is pregnant, my mom told my step dad and he told EVERYBODY at church! She wasn't ready to tell anyone yet. And now just about every other week he preaches about sexual immorality, just throws

My cat has been kinda of tired lately, and i've noticed his eyes are always kind of closed. Like, his cat-eyelids are always have way closed on his eyes.

I don't think he's sick because he never coughs or sneezes, or throws up or anything, he just always has kind of red eyes, like his eyes are bothering him, so I think it's allergies, but i'm worried about him. He's a house-cat, and he's probably about 4-8 months old, and it's been like this for about a week now. He's a beautiful little guy. I've seen one question similar to this and it said something about a respiratory problem, but it said that only happens when he gets eye-boogers.

But he doesn't have any eye boogers.

If he does in fact have allergies, should I take him to the vet, or is there anything I can give him. My parents just split up so we're kinda low on money, but i'll get a job and buy him some medicine if he needs it.

cause more problems than they help? What do you do if they have problems with parents and just seem to be trouble makers do you report them to superiors or just hold out for the end of school? Can you choose not to have them as your assistant again the next year or is it your choice?

I just picked this book up for my history class, and as one of my first books tackling religious debate, it's pretty interesting so far. The thing that surprised me is his lack of opinion and personal views. Dawkins, for example, often uses the tactic of stating what Christians believe, then telling them why what they believe is ridiculous, which gets nobody anywhere. This book (so far) just gives the facts. It does exactly what it says it will - unearth the Bible.

Whenever I bring up books like this, I never get a Christian view of things. If I ask why they don't want to read it, it's usually because they have no interest in hearing somebody else's subjective opinion. It's not that they're close-minded, just that there's no arguing with faith - and that's understandable.

But this book isn't out to debunk, just inform. And nothing bothers me more than religious people who know nothing of their history. Thoughts? Can you actually believe in things like the Exodus after reading this?
