Alternate Captain
This person is allowed to discuss elements of the game witrh th referee when the captain is otherwise disposed (on the bench, penalty box, etc).
Before each game, each team must let the NHL know who these people will be (up to 4), and they must have English skills necessary to talk to the referee and relay the necessary information to the coach accurately.
