I've had shin splints off and on in the past but haven't suffered from them in quite a while....I have great shoes, inserts, and do lots of stretching. However, I increased my mileage significantly last week because I'm running a half Marathon next week and wanted to get in as many miles as I could before my taper week. Because of this, my shin splints have returned (I only get them in my left leg) and it is very mild. I need to run 10-11 miles tomorrow to stick with my training schedule. It will be my last long run. Should I skip it? Or should I run it and then take it easy for the next couple of days? I was able to run 10.5 miles last Saturday with no problems.
