Auxiliary power supply: a) Explain the different options for auxiliary power supply of a
normal gas turbine power station sketching the corresponding single line diagrams. b) Which
conditions determine in the design phase (on the supply side), which option is chosen?
c) When and how is the auxiliary power supply switched over to another source? Three
typical examples are enough.

if we are controlling 3 phase 400volts or above voltage equipment say Motor or any big consumer auxiliary supply can be used with a control transformer of 2 phase input IE 400/110Volts AC.using 110v as a auxiliary supply will be safer to operate a power contactor to operate the motor or a machine with ON/OFF indication . fuse or control MCB is used for isolation in primary & secondary circuit.if one main fuse fails it will loose auxilary power ,there by single phasing can be avoided ann safe for the motor

same case we can use 24 DC also auxilary supply only thing controlling contactor coil to be selected top 24 volt dc with piolt miniature relay & energising the main contactor .. for safer operation auxilary supply can be choosen according to our requirement.
