I do not let organized religion bother me. period. Because the minute you give them power over you, they will take it. Thus you hand them over a good part of your jugement (and if you're "brainwashed " into a sect, then it's your whole judgement which goes down the river.

Religion doesn't run my life, but my beliefs do. Religion is a combination of beliefs, rituals and morals. My beliefs and morals run my life, but the rituals and the "organized" part of religion do not. I think some people who allow the rituals to run their life end up giving their particular religion a bad name. It can be bad if a religion controls you if you allow the ritual part to do so, or if you take your religious values the wrong way, such as persecuting those who do not believe the same things you do.
If your religion contains a set of values and beliefs that cause you to treat people well, then it is a good thing if they control your actions.

Religion does not control me. I submit my life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. He does not "control" me, either. It is always up to me as to whether to follow/obey or not. I have found, though, I am better off doing as He says.
He has known me, as everyone, before I ever existed - before my parents or their parents existed. He knows what I need and what others need from me. His guidance is perfect, even though my following may not always be. But, when I go and do what He says, I find that His plans are truly perfect.
This is paralleled in a parents wisdom to their children. Good parents are not trying to take fun away from their kids, but keeping them safe and healthy (and not wreck the house, either).

Well I am christian, and I don't judge other people on what religion they have. I have meet people, with different religions before, and religion doesn't make a person worse or better then someone else with another religion. I accept people no matter of their religion.

Jesus is in control of my life. I do not follow any religion. Christianity is a personal relationship with God. We keep regular contact with each other.

I don't allow religion to run my life at all.
I wish I could say the same about government, but I have NO CHOICE in that one.

I try and live God's commandments.
Nobody controls anybody or forces certain actions. Atleast not in my Christian congregation which is Mormon.
Control is not good. God gave agency and left the choice to us.

Religion plays no part in my life. If you let it control you, it will consume you.

I'm not separate from my religion, it's who I am. I control my actions based on my religious beliefs.

I basically have a relationship with whom I consider divine (as opposed to a slave-and-master situation). So, instead of being told what to do, I use my spirituality for advice.
