The car's engine is 200 times as powerful, yet the lawn mover is much louder. It seems that a more powerful engine should be louder, right ?

If a universal truth is that ALL things change, why do Christian's refuse to believe in evolution? Are Christian's that 'ignorant' to suggest everything changes except animals and people, therefore, not everything really changes?

What else, for a Christian and their "wacky" logic, doesn't change? Keep in mind that your state of mind may have changed several times just reading this question. You may have started thinking, you may have changed moods, you may have noticed you are bored with this. You weren't any of those before reading this question.

So, tell me, why is change only happening to what YOU want it to. I look forward to 'lack of logic' to support your answers and a lot of 'assumptions/made up answers' that will most likely contradict/lead to more questions

I work with a lady who had a negative breast biopsy 2 weeks ago and she took off 8 days and still is not back.
I think she is milking the system. What do you think?

In UK law it is illegal to carry anything that could be considered an offensive weapon in public. I read of an eccentric young man who was prosecuted for carrying a walking stick in public because he did not need it and it could be used as a weapon! The police are also under a great deal of pressure to make as many weapon arrests as possible to boost their performance figures. I was with a friend in the local park when two gangs in the distance started fighting. We phoned the police. He went to his car and picked up a baseball bat and ball. The police stopped him on his way back into the park and asked him what was going on and he told them. They asked about the bat at which point he just waved the ball at them. They shrugged their shoulders knowingly and let him through. Does anybody else have any thoughts on what defensive items you can legally carry e.g. a pointed golfing umbrella on a rainy day?

Genesis 19:31-36 One day his older daughter said to her sister, "Our father is old, and there are no men anywhere for us to marry. (32) Let's get our father drunk! Then we can sleep with him and have children." (33) That night they got their father drunk, and the older daughter got in bed with him, but he was too drunk even to know she was there. (34) The next day the older daughter said to her sister, "I slept with my father last night. We'll get him drunk again tonight, so you can go to bed with him, and we can each have a child." (35) That night they got their father drunk, and this time the younger sister slept with him. But once again he was too drunk even to know she was there. (36) That's how Lot's two daughters had their children. CEV

Christians say they want to save people from hell. Why? Do you honestly care about others that much? Because if you did, you wouldn't mock and insult them. You'd show Christ-like love and compassion for them. You can't say "we want to help you" in one breath, and in the next breath brag about how you'll be looking down on the bad atheists one day, and how it'll be too late for them. That's not compassion. That's self-righteousness.

Also, where does it say that you're supposed to constantly bother nonbelievers? Jesus told people to pray in secret, not making public spectacles of their beliefs. He also said that not all who say to him Lord, Lord, would enter the kingdom, and that you should tend to the plank in your own eye instead of the speck in your brother's. In other words, worry about your own salvation, not everyone else's. AND, if you come preaching and you're not accepted, you should leave that place and shake the dust from your feet.

What part of any of this is unclear?

I have a boyfriend and well he wants me to switch things up. he told me "I seriously want you to play hard to get". and Well, I for one am sick, i mean SICK of ME calling HIM all the time and him not coming to ME. that is what i want more than anything else. I saw him sunday and I haven't picked up the phone to call him since. I'm wondering if he is even going to call me by this weekend. Is this what you do to play hard to get? Or should I have said i was going to call Tuesday and then not called? so then he'd be thinking about me? Does he call you to make plans and then you see if you are free or not because you might be hanging out with one of your guy friends to kind of make him want you more? I don't really understand the rules or ways anyone plays hard to get. Because I have teased him but then after a while it just annoys him and i don't think that is playing hard to get. help!!!

Russia tests 'Dad Of All Bombs'
Russia's military has successfully tested what it describes as the world's most powerful non-nuclear air-delivered bomb.

Channel One television said the new ordnance, nicknamed the "Dad Of All Bombs" is four times more powerful than the US "Mother Of All Bombs".

"The tests have shown that the new air-delivered ordnance is comparable to a nuclear weapon in its efficiency and capability," Col Gen Alexander Rukshin, a deputy chief of the Russian military's General Staff, said.

Unlike a nuclear weapon, the bomb does not pose an environmental threat from the release of radiation, he added.

The statement reflected the Kremlin's efforts to restore Russia's global clout and rebuild the nation's military might.

The muscle-flexing comes at a time when ties with Washington have become strained over US criticism of Russia's slips on democracy, Moscow's vociferous protests against US missile defence plans and rifts over global crises.

The US Massive Ordnance Air Blast, a large-yield satellite-guided, air delivered bomb, had been described as the most powerful non-nuclear weapon in history.

Channel One said that while the Russian bomb contained about 7 tons of high explosives compared with more than 8 tons of explosives in the US bomb, it is four times more powerful because it uses explosives developed with the use of nanotechnology.

While the American bomb was equivalent to 11 tons of TNT, the Russian one was equivalent to 44 tons of regular explosives. The Russian weapon's blast radius is 1,000 feet, twice as big as that of the US design, the report said.

So, as America have the proof that Russia has a WMD will the US start invading Russia or are they a to big fish to fry?

I was watching a BBC mini series Three men In A Boat on Sunday (Australia). A white cabin cruiser around 30 ft was briefly featured. I'm trying to identify this boat. Here some details:
I have no idea what episode it was. I only saw 15 minutes, however it was the episode where there was a fireworks display at a castle. Just before the powerboat was featured, one of the cast went fly fishing.
The boat was a white aft cabin cabin cruiser around 30-35ft. It looked like a production boat from the UK around the 70's 80's, but maybe newer. It was pretty much fully enclosed for the colder British climate and as far as I could see, it was inboard powered. Does any power boar enthusiast know the boat manufacturer or any other information? If you didn't see the show, please don't waste your valuable time guessing from the limited information I've supplied.

Sorry, I never recorded the show so I can't direct you to a photo.

Well I rarely write in traditional forms. I saw a question last night asking for help on a love sonnet, and I realized that I'd never written one before. Here is my first attempt. I think it's my second sonnet overall. Comments? Suggestions?

When We’re Together

We live with these subtle redundancies,
What we touch we hurry to touch again.
We overlook these inconsistencies,
What we feel we struggle to still contain.
The days have not diminished us at all
Left with a craving barely satisfied,
Drives us to our knees as we do crawl,
Each taste and tremble fully codified.
Yet in these moments something new remains,
The sky still shatters stars fall raining down,
Rivulets mark the night with sweet refrains,
We melt into each other start to drown.
For do I truly end and you begin?
Each nudge ignites the tinder, smoke does wreathe.
It seems as though we’re trapped within this skin
For if I pull away will I still breathe.
To separate brings such a heavy toll
When we are torn apart so less than whole.

I realize the two arent entirely mutually exclusive.
But it is typical tha a person can have a very pleasant , comfortable life by following the "rules" and taking few risks. While most who live passionately take more risks in love, in life, in carreer suffering greater levels of both failure and success.

I've been given a USB memory key with some assorted documentation on it (about 50 MB of PDF files). Now I \ve read it all, I want to re-use the key for my own data. But my PC (running XP) sees it as CD drive. Clicking on its icon it comes up as Drive E, CD-rom. Free space 0, total memory 50MB. File system CDFS.
I have the impression that the USB key has somehow been "closed". It is impossible to erase data or record new data. There is no switch on it to block recording or erasing.
Any ideas?
