I'm 14, Atheist, and I have yet to tell my strict Catholic family [so they call themselves - my parents haven't been to a chruch in years] that I don't believe in god.
I'm afraid that if I tell them, they'll start making me go to chruch. And that truly is the last thing I want.
My grandparents spend majority of their time helping out their chruch, and I'm afraid of losing their respect if my parents tell them.

Any advice? Do my parents really have the right to make me go to Chruch?

Please read the whole question. I have noticed this being a problem here lately.

I asked a question the other day about penance and had several Catholics answer. As I now understand it you confess to the priest and are given penance. Doing the penance is necessary in order to be forgiven. To me this seems to be a doctrine of works. That you earn your salvation. That if you do not do these works you are not saved. This seems to go against what is taught in the Bible.

To preempt this gambit being used. I know James teaches works and I agree we should have works. If you have faith the works will naturally follow. Not works that save us but works that we do because we love God.

So on to my question since the Bible is clear that salvation is by faith alone. Then why do catholics and some others believe they have to earn their salvation by works? Penance is works.

I just bought a 2004 trailblazer with 20,000 miles on it. I was recently sitting in traffic and i look down and the tempature gauge as all the way in the red, i took it it to get checked out and they can not figure out what is wrong with it, they said they had it sitting for 2 hours running and it did not overheat. it has not gotten to the red since then but it does run a little hot. does anyone know? they checked the hoses and fan clutch and all that

hey, im 13 years old, and i've been having strange symptoms 4 about a year,

i get REALLY cold and all shaky. my handz r FREEZING and yet there sweaty. (i no, yuck) and i get a bit of a head ache.
i had them yesterday, and my skool nurse tried 2 make me eat. i told her i waznt hungary AT ALL, but she like didnt beleive me.
ive also been losing weight 4 no reason.
ive been like this of and on sence last october.

She's really pretty and hot. And she's not like most of the cheerleaders with the snotty attitude, she's actually really nice. I have three classes with her. In one class I sit beside her and we talk sometimes, but most of the time the other guys around her are talking to her. On the first day of school I opened the door for her and she gave me the sweetest smile ever! Then yesterday I asked her if she wanted to go to homecoming with me and she said she was already going with somebody else and it hurt but oh well. What should I do? I have a darling month old little girl. Right now I'm on maternity leave and home all day with her everyday, and my husband goes to work. Well, there is something I don't understand and it makes me feel heartbroken. Why is it that I can be home all day long for her and she won't do any firsts for me? Her first smile was for him, and then last night her first laugh was with him, while I was outside so I didn't even get to hear it and she still hasn't even laughed for me.
So why is it that I am home all day long with her and play with her and everything else but she still gets all happy when he comes home and does all these special things for him? I know I should be thrilled that her and her daddy have this special bond, but I am also upset that she can't share any firsts with me to tell him about when he gets home. Can someone help me understand this?

What should I do about this problem?
I plan on going to work today .. and work
