I live in south Louisiana and sugar cane is grown everywhere here. Between that and soy beans it's a huge crop for the area. I've watched the cultivation process all my life and notice that it is replanted every year. My question(s) are after the cane stalk is cut at harvest time wouldn't it sprout again? Why does it have to be replanted every year, and what is the average yield per acre of refined white sugar?

I was helping my grandmother clean out her attic and we came across a picture of my great great great (yes it is that many greats, my mother, and sister spent 10 minutes debating, please don't bring back that headache) grandmother at her spinning wheel. It's an old black and white photo on a matte. When you angle it in the light the black areas reflect an array of colors like oil on pavement. I can only assume this is from the old chemicals used to process it (I took a photography course before). My question is what is the best way to save and restore it? And who would be the best people to take it to? Because I would like to save it and not leave it in the hands of people who don't know what they're doing. Please help me.

What's the best way to restore it and save it?
Who are the most qualified people to take it to?

I love her, but she has been having an affair since May. I think it will die out, but I don't know how long that will take. She has talked to the guy on the phone for two years, but they just became "romantic" in May. She says she isn't sure if she wants a divorce or not. We've been married for 13 years and I want to stay married. But I can't just look the other way. Should I give her a few more months, for instance?

A Scotsman and an Englishman lived next door to each other.

The Scotsman owned a hen and each morning he would look in his garden and pick up one of his hen's eggs for breakfast.

One day he looked into his garden and saw that the hen had laid an egg in the Englishman's garden. He was about to go next door when he saw the Englishman pick up the egg.

The Scotsman ran up to the Englishman and told him that the egg belonged to him because he owned the hen.

The Englishman disagreed because the egg was laid on his property.

They argued for a while until finally the Scotsman said, "In my family we normally solve disputes by the following actions: I kick you in the t*sticles and time how long it takes for you to get back up. Then you kick me in the t*sticles and time how long it takes for me to get up. Whoever gets up quicker wins the egg."

I'll be 18 in a few months and i'm involved with a guy who is 24, we aren't boyfriend and girlfriend but we are extremely close friends who talk almost everyday. We really like each other and would like to take it to the next level but my parents don't like him because they believe that he has no potential and could do nothing but cause me trouble. I really like him but it feels like my parents are holding back me furthering my relationship with him. What should i do, should i go against my parents or should i just leave well enough alone.

AND

its not that he is "bad" for me, he encourages me to be respectful to my parents and get a good education so that i don't end up like him. its not like he is pushing drugs on me and making me cut school.

also he can have any girl he wants as well as i can have any guy that i want, and we've both been with people while we were friends, but we keep coming back to each other

and yes we have already had sex.....sex is not a big deal

I am 21. I believe my speech is impaired but maybe this has something to do with a reading problem or dyslexia?? I have already met with a speech therapist . I am no longer going , she believes I improved enough. I am still not satisfied and believe my speech and maybe communication needs improvement. Job interviews are horrible and at times mutual relations have been affected. It is clear I have a slight monotone ... Please, what can i do? This will really hurt me in the future !

Paretan newspaper editor: David Salino assails as distorted our quotation of remarks on Paretan values by the Quinkoan prime minister and bemoans what he sees as the likely consequences for paretan-Qinkoan relations. Those consequences will not be our fault, however, since officials at the Qinkoan embassy and scholars at the Institute of Qinkoan Studies have all confirmed that, as printed, our quotation was an acceptable translation of the prime minister's remarks. No newspaper can fairly be blamed for the consequences of its reporting when that reporting is accurate.

Which one of the following is an assumption on which the editor's argument depends?

(A) The confirmation that the translation is acceptable is sufficient to show that the prim minister’s remarks were accurately reported.
(B) Newspapers out not to consider the consequences of their coverage in deciding what to report.
(C) If the newspaper’s rendering of the prime minister’s remarks was not distorted, then there is no reason to fear adverse consequences from reporting the remarks.
(D) If David Salino was prepared to praise the newspaper for any favorable consequences of quoting the prime minister’s remarks, he could then hold the newspaper to blame for adverse consequences.
(E) Only scholars or people with official standing are in a position to pass judgment on whether a translation of Qinkoan into Paretan is acceptable.

Are the northern neighbourhoods and suburbs of Merseyside predominantly Everton country? Converesely, would one find more support for Liverpool FC in South Liverpool and the southern suburbs?

Before anyone says it, yes, I'm aware there are supporters of both clubs in all sections of Merseyside, but notice I said words like LARGELY and PREDOMINANTLY, not all or 100%.

Plus, as much as we tend to try and downplay these things nowadays, you can't argue there were often sectarian connectations to supporting a football club in years past, particularly in cities with large Irish connections. (i.e. Liverpool, Glasgow, and Manchester). It's no secret that not too long ago Catholics (largely of Irish ancestry) tended to favour Everton, while Protestants backed Liverpool FC. Historians tell us the once large Irish Catholic centres around Scotland Road largely moved northward to places like Bootle and Walton after the war. So is it fair to say North Liverpool is Blue and S. L'pool Red?

If I'm not mistaken(and please do tell me if I am) english started in england, and since no native born americans speak the way they do in england, that means even when you think you're speaking propper english, you really aren't, its more like really old school ebonics, seeing as how we invented some of our own words and manuerisms of speaking. Now with that said, why do you speak down on people who speak ebonics like they're ignorant, when, if you had an education, you'd know you done the same thing?
