i'm looking for some cool programs that run in the background while your screen saver is active. i've heard of a few, like one that does cancer research, another that searches for aliens, etc. but i don't know where to look for them. any websites?

why did god create bodies? everything that is wrong with us can be traced back to the fact that we are physical beings. we take up space which means we need space, ergo the origin of greed. this greed is also responsible for anger as well as envy. we are given instincts to procreate, therefore we have lust. i could go on but i think you get the point. wouldn't it have made a lot more sense for god to just make us into spirits?

When I was in college, I rode my bike a pretty fair amount. I would ride 20-30 miles 4 or 5 times a week and I also used my bike most of the time for getting around town.

I got into a phase where I had a lot of crashes. Usually minor stuff but I made one trip to the ER and had another one that was fairly nasty.

Looking back, I have to admit that I enjoyed the process of my body healing itself and I didn't really mind the pain of the crashes so much. I don't think I sought out crashes, but I definitely had no fear of them (even after my trip to the ER).

I had never really reflected on this until somebody recently 'accused ' me of being a masochist (in another question). For some reason this triggered in me a refletion on this period where I crashed a lot. And I am wondering if I went through a masochistic phase.

I sincerely hold the belief that I am at the centre of the universe and that everything around me - people, places, planets, sensations, oceans, galaxies, activities, smells, sound, love, hate - is all revolving around me as the central focal point.

I have believed this all of my life but recently doubt has found a path into my soul and I have been wondering if this is not true and maybe I am suffering from delusions of grandeur or narcicissism.

Anyone else feel like this?

My wife commited adultry but because Im the father and she is the mother and because she is not a abusive or drug addtict mother. The courts in So. Cal looks down on me for custody issues because Im a man. How do I avoid from getting ripped off in my case. Keep in mind Im full Army active duty and she lives in CA and Im in Iraq right now.

How would they feel if a suspect confessed to something they did not do, spent years in prison, and found innocent? All because they were anxious to get a confession, depriving the suspect of lawyer, food and sleep for hours and days on end.

This morning on the news, due to Congressional oversight, funding for subsidized birth control of college students was cut . . . birth control prices on campus will increase an average of 300% until additional funding can be secured or corrected. Will the Right to Life Movement or those who are opposed to abortion monitor the case to make sure the funding issue is resolved? Does this concern you? What sort of involvement will the movement provide? Just curious.

Ok I was talking to a buddy this morning and this guy came up and neither of us could remember his name. It's gonna bug me all day now unless someone can help me.

He was a reliever for the Cubs a few years ago. I think he pitched for the Marlins before that. He's best known for having 6 fingers on each hand. I can see his face but can't put a name with it.......

My boyfriend was at a party 2yrs ago with his best friend and his best friend's 16yr old brother. they fell asleep and the adults who gave them alcohol woke them up and told them they had to leave. they debated on who should drive and my b/f decided to. they went off a cliff and the 16yr old died. this was 2yrs ago. the court case is finally wrappin up. he is still best friends with the boys brother and the family of the boy doesn't want him to serve any jail or prison time, they think the adults should. The DA won't meet with the family or go after the adults. My b/f feels so guilty all the time and hasn't drank since then, he has chosen to do a blind plea (even though the family of the boy doesn't want him to) where he says he's guilty of manslaughter. he's goin to jail for 45 to 90 days where he will wait for the judge to decide further punishment. What do you think the judge will decide to do?
