i'm looking for some cool programs that run in the background while your screen saver is active. i've heard of a few, like one that does cancer research, another that searches for aliens, etc. but i don't know where to look for them. any websites?

i also don't want to use up a bunch of system resources, if possible.

The cancer research is Screensaver Lifesaver, now ended. Aliens is SETI@Home at http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ .

If you'd really rather go the medical route, there's Folding@home, which researches protein misfolding in relation to disease. http://folding.stanford.edu/

All this is classified by the umbrella term "distributed computing".

Also, the point of DC is to make use of idle CPU time, so it'll give you your processor power and system resources back when you're ready to use your computer again.

You first placed all your pictures what you prefer to instruct in a folder . Then open properties in laptop. choose demonstrate saver in that. Use My photos slide instruct and click settings there you could browse the folder the place your photos are. Then click ok. Its throughout now..
