Here's the deal. On one hand I hear that evolution is only a theory (not fact) that has absolutely no evidence to support it. I hear that it is just as much a faith and religion as any other crazy creation myth. On the other hand, I hear that almost all (if not all) evidence against evolution and for biblical creationism is either a gross misunderstanding, or a gross misinterpretation of existing facts. I also hear that evolution is virtually uncontested in the science world, and that no scientist disagrees with it.

My question is how can I, not a scientist and not connected with the scientific world in anyway, be sure who's telling the truth? I don't doubt that people on both sides say thy are telling the truth (or atleast think they are), but obviously someone is lying. How can I discover the truth?

I will also be posting this question in the Biology board. I think the responeces should be interesting.

Wars and slavery these days are based almost entirely by the value we place on certain resources. Diamonds, oil, grain- these are not worth any more than the rocks in my garden according to reason.

There is one giant assembly of people that are supposed to see this as a matter of fact, yet don't.

Answer this- if Christians all over the world actually acted like they believed in what they say, would this still be a problem?

im on birth control ( alesse ) and half way thru my pill pack I started bleeding...I know about breakthru bleeding but its been 8 days...is that too long? or is it normal...Im only on my second pack so it could just be my body getting used to it right?

Don't get me wrong I love mexicans...and other assorted latino immigrants, my X girlfriend was mexican and i like tacos. But i have this huge petpeave...I cannot frikin stand it when I encounter latino folks who live in America and can't understand even the simplist English clauses. How do these people's brains work??? If I were to visit France I would take a few days to learn some basic French so that I wouldn't be a total outcast. But there are immigrants who visit America for years at a time sometimes perminantly and still dont know what a fork is...and it's not like they don't have the resources to learn english...We let them get away with it by printing out Spanish translations for everything from DMV tests to voter registration...I have no ill-will towards these people but when I encounter one I choose to ignore them because they already (by inaction) choose NOT to learn english with their own stubborn apathy. If you don't speak spanish, how do you respond to one of these folks?

I had my wisdom teeth removed last Wednesday, and now I have a large swollen area where the bottom right tooth was removed. The lump has been here for three days and I've been rinsing with warm salt water and putting warm compresses on it but it isn't helping any. Also my lower left wisdom tooth's stitches came out and now there is a hole there. This really worries me because I'm still in a lot of pain and have three pills left. Anyone know any other remedies for relief or what is going on?

my last full flow period was 03/07 lasted bout 8 days, on 24/07 i had pink discharge/spotting for 9 days, my periods are always really heavy, so it wasnt normal. now i've had cramps, bloating, tiredness and feel blur, last couple of days thinking next time i go to toilet my periods would be here, but nothing.. i should have already got my periods this month, was due on 14/08, i had taken tests before and both were neg.. have got dr app 18th sept, I'm really worried as my partner and i separated recently, this is the last thing we wanted.. There are going to be quite a few children at my wedding, and I absolutly adore all of them, so I'd like to be able to involve them as much as possible, and give them an atmosphere that they can enjoy too. I got this idea, since I'm only 15 and i can't buy stocks(not that I would anyway), to withdraw money from my bank in american funds (RBC) and wait till the canadian dollar drops and exchange that money for canadian money, thus making profit.
