Wars and slavery these days are based almost entirely by the value we place on certain resources. Diamonds, oil, grain- these are not worth any more than the rocks in my garden according to reason.

There is one giant assembly of people that are supposed to see this as a matter of fact, yet don't.

Answer this- if Christians all over the world actually acted like they believed in what they say, would this still be a problem?

I can see that many of you need help in comprehension.

What has more value? 150 lbs of granite, 150 gals of oil, 150 ounces of gold, or a 150 lb man?

We have made our choice according to concepts we have invented. There are ways to keep things running without disregarding the value of the man, but he is not worth our effort.

To answer your final question: No.

Christianity is really a wonderful religion. It's very benevolence-oriented. It's some of the followers who are awful -- twisting scriptures to serve their purposes.

I wasn't raised in any religion, so I've come to spirituality on my own, and I studied numerous theosophies over the years. It's both amusing and sad how some people will trumpet loudly [one could say "vainly"] about how they are Christians, and then not bother with minor details like, say, actually behaving the way the man requested.

You're going to blame slavery on Christians? Slavery has been around loooooong before Christianity. Many people from many tribes & nations had slaves way before Christianity was even a twinkle in Gods eye.

Do you own a car? If you care so little for oil, then get rid of your computer (and everything that you own for that matter), quit your job, live in a mud hut, remove your clothes, and grow your own veggies.

I see, so you just blame a group of people for the all the problems of the world, its just that easy ey???

You have NO CLUE!!!!!

Come back when you learn NOT to stereo-type an entire group of people for the actions of a few, and you don't even know if the few are Christians, do you??????

How old are you?

You need to check your sources again. Alot of Christians have died on foreign soil trying to alleviate seemingly unending misery suffered by millions of people. If you want to be accurate, point your fingers at the "leaders" of such countries as Sudan, Zimbabwe Rhodesia, Chile, Argentina, etc, etc. You'll find what you're looking for in your question.

i agree with what you are saying. i am a Christian and i see alot of other "Christians" who dont "practice what they preach" and i think its rather sad. Mohandis Ghandi was once asked what he thought of Christianity and he replied, "I like your Christ. I do not like your Chritians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ". its time we act more like Christ. and Christianity did more to free the slaves than anything. do some research. and as far as the diamonds and so forth i dont really know what you mean. as for wars, things like the crusades were fought for money, and the Muslims also had a great deal to do with the crusades too, but no one ever mentions that. it had nothing to do with "you dont believe how i believe so im gonna kill you". the church was given control of the Roman Empire by Constantine because the Empire was running out of money and the growing Church had plenty of it. after the Church had power for awhile their money started dwindling too, and they invade surrounding areas for money and power. it wasnt anything to do with "Christianity", but money. thats what happenes when people try to turn Christianity into a religion. Religion and Chritianity should remain separate, and i assure you it can.

You can make your car work by putting rocks into the gas tank.

Wow, teach us all, oh, wise one!

If the Christian views of Jesus were in place the world would be a different place.

You probalby wouldn't have a car. I can't see Jesus and God believing in Cars!

According to reason, grain is much more valuable to a hungry person than a rock from your garden.

Most people who start a war in the name of christianity (i.e. Bush) only use christianity as a reason to hide behind, so instead of blaming Bush, people would blame christians. Evidently it has worked.

No there wouldn't.. but that's why we need Christ. Man is imperfect. We are wicked and hypocrites.. that's why we turn to God, the creator, to help us with our problems. I find it sad that Christians, including my self ( I am just as guilty ), don't step up for whats right like we need to. But thank goodness God extends his grace to us.. even despite our imperfect, sinful nature.

I have to say though... a ' Christian ' isn't neccesarily a good person. We all fall short of the glory of God. You should rephrase your question as directed to 'Followers of Gods Word' =)

Try and eat the rocks in your garden. That's the beginning of your problem.
