I had my wisdom teeth removed last Wednesday, and now I have a large swollen area where the bottom right tooth was removed. The lump has been here for three days and I've been rinsing with warm salt water and putting warm compresses on it but it isn't helping any. Also my lower left wisdom tooth's stitches came out and now there is a hole there. This really worries me because I'm still in a lot of pain and have three pills left. Anyone know any other remedies for relief or what is going on?

This is absolutely natural. You will be swollen for about two weeks, and the first week is definitely the toughest.

I suggest rinsing with salt water more often per day, maybe three or four times. Then use gauges to cover up the hole left by the removal of the stitches.

You also are supposed to visit your dental surgeon at least two weeks after your initial surgery. You might want to go and visit him/her ASAP, since your stitches came out.

After these two weeks, your life will go back to normal.

Go back to the dentist and get this assessed and properly taken care of if need be. No reputable health professional is going to try to diagnose this over the web. Besides, you've already paid for your care - why not use it?

You need to go back and see the surgeon. He will be able to fix it for you...but you should really ho back asap before this situation turns into an even worse situation (like infection or dry sockets)! hope i could help!
