I recently started getting guitar lessons. I am paying $15 for a half an hour. Well, the thing is, the guy who teaches me spends half the time writing things down that he is going to show me. He will draw out the chords and write down sentences like, "Remember to pat foot." I feel like this should be something he should have pre-printed for the lesson and should hand to me and say, "Let's do this." Also, he cut my lesson short about 5 minutes yesterday and said that was all he had. Plus he spent the first 1-2 minutes playing around on my guitar. Is this normal practice? Thanks.

Hello. I had my last period on 17th June, which lasted for 7 days. I havent got my periods yet. I went for a pregnancy test today. It came positive. I am afraid, whether its true or not because, the strip manufacturing company says to hold the strip for 5 seconds in urine stream while I held it for 20 seconds ( I've forgotten it !! ). My second last period was on 27th april. It means my period cycle is quite long ( more than 50 days !! ) . I am very scared and not getting wat to do. I'm married and dont want child this much earlier. Please help me to know wat to do next ?

They read some book, have a feeling that "god" exists, where raised to believe in him, it doesn't make sense to me. I read books and study all religions because I am interested in the way people think. I have found nothing that has "told" me "god" exists.

Last night, I was talking with a friend of mine who is a Christian, and knows that I'm an atheist. A few days ago, we decided to exchange some ideas in the forms of a book and a CD; I gave him my copy of 'Letter To A Christian Nation', and he gave me a CD of a sermon recently recorded at his church.

The following is a summary of our dialogue as I was leaving last night :

Him : "Let me know what you think, and if you're ever interested in attending church with me, tell me."

Me : "I'll let you know. Church isn't really my thing."

Him : "Lots of women there...!"

Me : "Dude, I'm an atheist, and even I know that's not the reason to attend church."

Did I misconstrue or read too much into his comment, or is sex a new angle for recruiting people to attend church? Opinions from all are welcome.

Was watching a program on PBS last night about the 1960's (although they did go into the early years of the 70's). They spoke with reverence of the shooting of the Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther King, but they seem to despise George Wallace who was also shot during that time period. Since George Wallace was also shot during that time frame, was is he not also remembered with fond memories?
