So, I am a 17 year old girl and currently a senior of the 2007-2008 school year. Next year I wish to go to college and pursue a job in Journalism but I have no money. I applied for a scholarship (I'm in the final 10 finalists!) and I need votes so if you could please read my essay and possibly vote for it or encourage others to then it would be VERY appreciated.

When I named my teacup yorkie, I was obsessed with Panic! at the Disco.

So now his name is.. Disco.
I'm getting another yorkie, so I thought I would name her Panic. :)

My friend and I want to sing a duet at a fundraiser TOMORROW. We want to sing "Learning to be Silent" from the musical Footloose, but we're having the hardest time finding sheet music. I've called several of my friends, one of which has a sister who is touring with 25th Annunal Putnam County Spelling Bee and even SHE doesn't have the sheet music! Anyone know where I can get some either for free or for a very low price?

A group of girlfriends are on vacation, when they see a
5-story hotel with a sign that reads “For Women Only”
Since they were without their boyfriends or parents, they decide to go
in.
The Bouncer, a very attractive guy, explains to them how it works.
“We have 5 floors…go up floor by floor, and once
you find what you are looking for, you can stay there.
It’s easy to decide, since each floor has signs telling you what’s
inside”

So they start going up, and on the first floor the sign reads
“All the men here have it short and thin” …the friends laugh
and without hesitation move on to the next floor.

The sign on the Second floor reads ”
All the men here have it long and thin”.

Still, this wasn’t good enough so the friends move
up to the Third floor, where the sign read
“All the men here have it short and thick”.

This was still another disappointment, but knowing there are
still 2 floors left, they move on to the next floor.
In the Fourth floor, the sign was perfect.
“All the men here have it long and thick”

The women get all excited and are going in when
they realize that there is one floor left.
Wondering what they were missing,
they go to the Fifth floor, where the sign read”

“There are no men here. This floor was built only to prove
that there is no way to please a woman” !!!!!!!!!

I had an interview with a district court and was asked this question: what do you think of all the people coming thru here going to court? I said that probably 1/2 of them are not law abiding citizens and the other half just had a bad day, made a wrong decision. What would have been the appropriate answer.

Hello,
I have a young commmon lilac plant (three stems out of one plant and about 50cm high). All the leafs are breaking and are turning yellow. I can't see any pests on it, no bugs, etc.
Does anyone know what it might be?

you couldn't see that it was a enforcement vehicle or officer; woiuld you be within your rights to slow way down (20-30 mph) and creep to the next lighted exit or business?

I just read "Flim-Flam!" from James Randi. James Randi is a famous debunker of the paranormal. In the book, he says that it is not even clear what we mean by EEG coherence between different parts of the brain during meditation. He says that it is an illusion created by defective apparatus, etc.

I checked Google Scholar on the subject (in connection with the Dalai Lama because he a popular figure) http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&lr=&client=firefox-a&q=eeg+coherence+meditation+Dalai+Lama&btnG=Search and it seems well defined and well studied, etc., not even close to the paranormal. Similar research was done with Transcendental Meditation, which is also very well known.

Why does Randi, a debunker of the paranormal, claimed so strongly that it is an "illusion", etc. Anyway, what EEG coherence should has to do with the paranormal? Has James Randi just brought confusion instead of useful information? I have no recent reference for his claims. Did he change his opinion?
