I have 4 tetras, 1 female and the rest male, and the female keeps close to the ground in a corner while the rest are swimming around. she only comes up to get food or waits till the food sinks under the filter.

I tried to ask this question in the shortest form possible, but I seriously messed it up. Here’s more of the story.
Two people at my grandparents’ church got offended because I didn’t send them a graduation invitation to their house.

Now yesterday, they sent me a graduation present, a ring. I don't want to thank them after the immature way they acted about not being singled out.

AND there is a good reason they were not singled out. No one was. I had a terrible battle with depression the whole second semester, and I wasn't sure of graduating until about a week before the ceremony itself. So sending out personalized invitations to over a 100 people was not an option. Addressing them would have taken at least 2 or 3 days, the mail would have taken another 2 or 3 to get to them, leaving at the most 3 days of notification for the whole thing. We put up the invitation as soon as we knew.

So, the question I was really getting at was how do I resolve this without “airing my dirty laundry”?

I asked a similar question earlier and most of the people who answered must not have heard this story. (I guess it wasn't reported on The Daily Show or CNN aka Clinton News Network).

A student at Pace University in New York was arrested for commiting a hate crime because he put a Koran in a toilet. Isn't that freedom of speech? Why is a religious book protected while it is perfectly legal to burn the American flag?

My mom is 64 & has been steadily declining in memory & behavior since 1990 or so. She's visiting me from back east & I'm wondering if she's losing it!

Here's some of the stuff she's been doing & only getting worse:

**She constantly repeats herself. If you remind her, she'll just keep going & tell you not to listen or ignore her
**She talks about the past whenever she opens her mouth
**She has about 5 subjects that she talks about & won't come into the "present" without going back into the "past"
**She will provoke arguments & then pretend like she did nothing wrong or change the subject immediately
**She'll ask for something and then say "never-mind".
**She won't walk to the corner by herself out of some "fear" but won't say what it is.

She is a staunch Christian, however, and can engage you in religion, Jesus, or the bible like Freud or Einstein.

What GIVES?

My mom is great except for one thing. If you (son or daughter of hers) walks in she'll tell you you are fat, or need a haircut or are gaining weight excessively flat out and passionately. She'll criticize you when you are close by to her so that you won't go near her or want to be part of her. I can't stand it.

One time I asked her why doesn't she criticize the neighbor across the street, and she said no, I care about my family, not the neighbor. Does that mean she respects the neighbors better than she does her own family. She also likes to bring shame down upon us if we don't behave well, like if we don't say please, excuse me, and she'll basically pound your head and say shame on you for not behaving and so forth never ending... Your thoughts.

My last name is Lewellon, but i never see it spelled that way, i always see it with the double L instead. I've never met my real dad so i can't ask him where my last name ariginated, i'm Portuguese from my mothers side, and she is full blooded, everyone in her family is from the Azores, if anyone can help me figure out where to look for last names it would be great thanks....

oh before i forget, if it helps, i am white skinned with red hair, and everyone else in my family is all tan skinned with dark brown hair, so i always feel like an outcast, lol even though i can speak portuguese and spanish oh well if this helps it does if not, oh well, lol Thanks.

A friend of mine who already has two children (ages 4 and 5)is now pregnate with am unexpected third child. About a year or so ago, she and her husband sold or gave away a lot of the baby stuff they'd accumulated over the course of two pregnancies. They aren't in a desperate financial situation, but they aren't loaded either. I would like to host a shower for her, but am concerned about how it would be recived by others since she does already have two kids. Thoughts? Ideas? Comments?
