my fiancee and i were discussing about him joining the marines (he feels the need for a push in the right direction). but cringed at the thought of the war. the thing is he is the only male in his ENTIRE family that will carry his last name. his dad was the last and his grandfather before him. what will happen in this situation?

I am currently 20 years old (going to be 21 this January), and I can honestly say I've never been there in my life. When I told this to friends, they were utterly shocked, as if it is some sort of ritual that all kids must go through. Is it really that bad that I haven't been there? Personally I hate anything Disney: so out of touch with reality.

According to Super-String theory, it is tiny, tiny one-dimensional strings of vibrating energy that allows for the exists of matter at every level of structure. According to Brian Greene of, The Fabric Of The COSMOS, it is the frequency and amplitude of the vibrations of these tiny bits of string energy that results in matter and the general characteristics of matter.

Since any given string is capable of vibrating at any of a large number of frequencies and amplitudes, what regulates string behavior and thus, creates "stability" in the resulting forms of matter? Without some form of control, what keeps a given string from vibrating at anyone of a large number of frequencies at any one time? Does the mathematics have anything to say about control and regulation of string behavior over time?

Can such string variations be correlated with phase-transitions in matter, like when water goes from solid to liquid to steam?

why do i have to go? he hit me. he threatend me and he was bigger than me and everything. police says i need to talk to judge because this man lies and says he hit me after i came to a sudden and complete stop. i did not stop. i was going 30 when he hit me.this man was road raging. bottom line he hit my rear bumper. he had a wife and 2 yr old in car. he hit my left rear as he was trying to swerve in and out of traffic. so now its my word against his and his wifes and i dont know if i need to take a lawyer and i didnt cause this accident.

I met this guy because of a friend and he lives really near me and so me, my friend, and him hang out a lot and it seems he's developed an interest in me.

Its only been a few days, he asked for my phone number
and my friend gave it to him and I just agreed not thinking twice.

He called me the minute he got my phone number, he talks to me for HOURS. He talks about love, romance, yadda yadda. I can't hang up...I need some help!
And now he calls me every 15 minutes...EVERYDAY.
LITERALLY! I'm NOT joking.

I have no dating interest in him whatsoever and never led him on or anything. How do I tell him that I don't want him to call?
Yes, I've tried ignoring his calls but he just calls me MORE and MORE even if I don't pick up. He leaves me at least 3 LONG messages everyday and I think I'm on my last nerve.

during the fall and spring I took 20 credits but in fall I dropped 4 credit course and in spring I dropped another so out of the 20 credits I only finished 12 which put me at 60% out of the 67 that I needed to get financial aid the next year I put in an appeal saying why I dropped the classes in fall but there mainly looking at the spring one which I have no excuse for I also took 2 more classes which were 6 credits and finished which would of put me at 69% but they just told me that summer doesn't count toward the standards of academic progress and that they only look at fall and spring so my question is does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this thanks

Got some zebra danios today, got the water checked and it was fine. I got 4, and after they have been in the tank for about 6 hours, 1 danio started darting around very very fast and is now sitting in the water (Not dead) just above the filter breathing very fast - He has been still and breathing for about 10 mins now. Anyone know what could be wrong? As only 1 out of 4 has gone strange. Thanks

I clean houses for a living. For the first time in my life I have a lady that is very unhappy with my services. She wrote a very rude review of my work. She was upset that I don't do certain things,(like all the wood work in her house) and that I was charging too much for my services. I have been cleaning for her for almost a year. When I first met her, I gave her a list of the services that I provide(wood work was not on that list) and we settled on a price. How do I tell her that I no longer want to clean her house without sounding rude?

i ordered something from best buy and they packaged it sunday and sent me an email saying it was on its way. when i clicked the tracking number to see the status on the ups site it says billing information recieved. i paid for next day delivery, and it was originally supposed to arrive today but best buy had problems at their warehouse. will i get it tomorrow since they have the info in the computer?

My bf and I were at a bar hanging out w/ our friends. At the end of the night he walked me to my car and was going to grab something to eat with his friend before coming over to my place, as he was kissing me, his ex drove by and goes "get a room" in a really friendly voice and was smiling (she still wants him but she's nice to me and we say hello occasionally.) When I got home, my bf calls me n asked me to pick him up and then goes "I freaking love you, i hate stupid girls." I knew he was drunk so ignored it, the next day his friend told him that he was making out with his ex in the restroom, my bf felt really bad and told me about it, but says he doesn't remember, he just remembers his ex asking if he still had feelings for her and he said "i don't feel $h^t" and she slapped him. I know this is the entire truth because i spoke to his ex, him and his friend....but i don't know if i should give him another chance or not, i'm just upset it even happened. what do you all think??
