I was reading that Jehovah's Witnesses believe that 144,000 people will rule with God in Heaven. And that all others will live in paradise on earth one day.

This is generally not believed by mainstream Christians (protestants, catholics, anglicans, orthodox, etc)

Yet the number '144,000' is in the Bible.

Can someone tell me where this number appears, and what it means? Does it really refer to the number of people that God will take with him? If not, then what does it mean?

I live in newyork. I just finished watching americas got talent here at 9.30 pm.. Im confused about this.. That why were there only 10 finalists on tonight? Werent there supposed to be 20? The 10 on tonight were ( kevin the magician, kashif the bollywood dancer, The cute big glamazons , the boy band johnny lately, the sewage worker who sang, the latin guy who sang, the 14 year old girl singer , the butterscotch beatboxer girl, the 4 sideswipe guys, and the cowboy)..
What happened to the others like boy shakira etc? Did i miss a show in between after the vegas selection of the top twenty?.
And what happened to my favourite act.. THE SECOND STORY GUYS? The incredibly talented guys who danced on stilts??

This is based on the Christian Bible. Is there considerable Biblical evidence that Christ did have a pre-existence? What are some prophecies? Was Jesus from Heaven first or was He born on earth? I believe He came from Heaven.

Ok, I'm going to just say exactly what happened here. My (ex?) girlfriend of 5+ years decided last week that she needed a "break" but NOT a "breakup". She said that she needs to "clear her head and wants to go out and party with the girls and just be on her own for a little while, and then in a little while we would get back together and see what's changed."
Basically what I am gathering (with some help from others) is that she wants to try playing the field for a bit, find out that most guys out there are *******, and make sure that I'm the one she wants to spend her life with. But, I'm going on 29 this year, and don't want to keep waiting around for her to make up her mind. I want to get married and have kids, and, she said that she wasn't sure that's what she wants, (after telling me for months that I'm her "one" and she can't live without me.) So, how long should I wait before I go out and start actively "playing the field" for lack of a better term?

Hi, i have a 3 month old siberian husky. i noticed that she has been smelling pretty bad. i have gotten her about a month ago and this is the 2nd time i will be washing her. i noticed when the first time i washed her she still smelled so im guessing i didnt do a good job and she was screaming, whining and running away when i was trying to apply soap to her. my question is how do u wash a dog

Just need to know about fan lights combos for bathrooms, can you wire it so that the light can be turned on separately from the vent. Doesn’t makes sense to me to turn on the light if you just need to turn in the fan ex. during the day.

as I am packing my goods into the car trunk ,two young men came greeted me and told me they where Mormons! they told me they where greeting ppl and educating them on their religion , nothing more! I told them with tact that I would not be interested in their religion and because I was an Atheist. they where very sweet about it and said if I would ever change my mind I could contact the nearest church for Info! they also said I was the nicest person they had met today(lots give them crap) and shook my hand and that of my son with big fat smile on their face! they wished me peace and health and told me God bless! they waved and went on to the next ppl!
are Mormons christians?? - If they are they have to be the nicest christians on the planet!
have you ever been aproached by these kind of kids??
