aren't most of our responses to various actions predetermined? we're a product of our environment or some crap like that. lol.

so, when we make choices, couldn't it be said that most of of those choices are already based on a behavioral trait we picked up from someone else much earlier on in life?

everything is everyone else's fault. lol.

what I'm leading up to is, how can god send people to hell just because he gave us this free will? clearly, much, if not all of free will is compromised.

I have just recently moved and am now doing a long motorway commute to work everyday, after a couple of months my oil tank is empty, I think i am going through about a litre a month. I don't think I have a leak. Can anyone tell me if this is normal for a smart car doing higher mileage? Or should I be visiting my local garage.... thanks!

I'm not attempting to be rude to your beliefs, I'm asking a serious question. Is there some reason why you would even want to be in a religious debate? As far as what I knew atheists don't believe in any form of higher being. That would be agnostic.

So what is it? Curiosity? Or are you driven by some force to get people to switch to believe in nothingness? Is there an underlying problem in the atheistic world view when it comes to others believing in God? Please be respectful.

The suzuki 3 cyl. was getting 40+ mpg depending on the model and accesories. Now that gas prices are going up why aren't the auto companies bringing the 3 cyl. back. The Geo Metro was very popular. I've seen commercials for 41 mpg city for the toyota and honda's but now they're priced as a hybrid. My 78 Ford Courier gets 30 mpg. I also see the larger vehicles now rated at 25 to 30 mpg. What the heck is going on with auto industry and mpg that we could have had years ago? And have had some pretty good ones in the past.

There is a disturbing amount 12 year olds on this site who are pregnant. Babies should not be having babies, it's just wrong. Just think if every generation did that, you might know your greatgreatgreatgreatgreat-grandmother!

OK.I have read everything I could possibly read about cruising (visited all of the websites). I know there are no tanktops or shorts permitted for the diningroom, but what about a shirt w/ spaghetti straps or a fashionable halter? Kelly Tripplehorn on his youtube video stated that no atheist scientist can assume that the events of the past should govern the future. It's apparently called 'the problem of induction'. He states however that because God told him that he made the universe uniformly in his 'word' the Bible he can make this assumption and therefore all Scientists should be Christians. I can identify several can you expose more weaknesses in his argument?

My study of hell is taking me to unusual places. Other than the fact that it is used a lot in the KJV it as an interesting etymology. Let me just cut a little snippet for you:

A death aspect of the three-fold goddess? Now that's interesting. What's a pagan concept doing being used in an improper context in the christian bible?

Could it be that we have the wrong idea of hell afterall? Is it a place of eternal tormnet a "winnowing" process?

I've started a study and so far it not's looking good for the traditional doctrine.
