Is it reasonable to conclude that an actual disciple of the apostle John would be in contradiction with his mentor's view on the deity of Christ ?

Ignatius' GENUINE writings indicate he believed that Christ was God.

Where did he get his doctrine from ? John, perhaps ? Are Ignatius' writings extra-biblical proof that John did indeed believe that Jesus Christ was God incarnate ?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

Yet again, the World Heavyweight Champion is injured. Edge tore a pectoral muscle, and for an unditermined amount of time, will be out of action. Since this was supposed to be the first long title reign of his career, Edge is said to be very disappointed. Edge will relinquish the belt, and a Battle Royal will be held for the championship, with the winner putting his belt on the line Sunday. Who wins? I'm thinking Rey.

Hi, I am having a boy in a few months, and have a big decision to face. My husband wants to circumcise our son, but I'm not so sure. If you could please share your experiences with me, circumcised and uncircumcised, and whether you agree with your parent's decision or not and why. Thank you very much for your help!

http://blog.mrm.org/2007/07/mormons-need-to-get-rid-of-their-own-n-word/

Upon referring to a certain poster on this board as an "anti-mormon," I was referred to the above link.

Do you sometimes think we are a little quick to judge the intentions of those who question our Church and attach false labels to them? Do you sometimes think that we are prone to cry "persecution" at the slightest propogation?

To be fair, we do take quite a mudslinging once in awhile, but just like the 3rd-grade bully stops picking on the 2nd-grade nerd when he stops crying, do you think that the world will be more tolerant to the Church when we acknowledge criticism instead of deflecting it with labels?

I think there are prejudicial concessions to be made on both sides, but that as members of God's true Church, it behooves us to make the first move in defeating the ugly monster of prejudice.

Your thoughts?

People who try to tell you what religion you are (i.e. there's no such thing as an atheist, you're not a true Christian, etc.)

or

People who rely on other people to tell them what religion they are (i.e. asking a question like, "What religion am I? I believe in God but don't go to church and a pink unicorn came to me in a dream last night and said that we all came from monkeys!")

?

I think it was the middle 80s, there was a show set in the 40s about an Indiana Jones type guy who lived in a remote area, and there was a water plane and a girl...just vague memories, I know, but I watched it all the time as a pre-teen, and it was cancelled quite suddenly. Now no one seems to remember it exept me, and only cloudy memories for me. Anyone have an idea of what this show might have been?

i pick this article (part of it) from Keith Olbermann's prediction

But what about that scar on Harry’s face? What is it really, the one seared into him in childhood when Voldemort tried to kill him and did kill his parents, the one that could register Voldemort’s emotions, even sense when Voldemort is physically near. It’s got be a horcrux, no? It’s got to be a part of Voldemort carried on Harry Potter’s very flesh?

and the idea just hit me. what if it's true?
harry's parents life's is the killing, so Voldie did made another horcrux. What if harry "is" that something from griffindor? a decendant?

If a city that utilizes video to monitor traffic signals & issues citations by mail for running the red light has 15 days from the date of the violation to deliver the citation to the defendant, does "delivered" mean mailing same by the 15th day or actual delivery of the citation to the defendant by the 15th day?

Today she had gastric bypass surgery and she came through fine. I'm happy for her. Now the office wants everyone to pitch in so they can send her a gift basket of flowers, a book and a few magazines and I don't want to. It's not that I don't like her, but I feel like they're congratulating her for being lazy. Prior to this surgery she was supposed to be on a diet for 6 months. Her doctor gave her 2 months free and for the other 4 she never ate right(ordering chinese, fried chicken, bagels), never worked out. She didn't try at all, then complained when she gained 2-3lbs every month she weighed in. I realize it's the gesture the office is going for, but it bothers me. Am I just being rude or do I have a point?

Should I tell my dr. we want to ttc or should we just go for it? Are there tests that need to be done to be sure we'll have a healthy baby or is that just a waste of money and I should go see the dr. once a hpt comes out positive? I've been off the pill since August 2006 and have been using a spermacide since. Not sure how long it will take us... thanks!

1) A two day road trip, and being cramped in a car tightly.
2) To have to live with the person you hate the most for a year.
3) No to be successful at getting a girlfriend/boyfriend.
4) To apply for a supermarket job 5 times, and never given an interview.

All of the would annoy me, but I want to see what others think.
