Because so many people fail to take a look at the original Hebrew Bible and Judaic belief. A lot of misunderstanding would be resolved if bible readers read the actual Hebrew Bible, you know, the one unmolested by Catholic Priests?

There is but one true God, and one son Jesus Christ of who it was through him (Jesus) that forgiveness of sin is made possible and only through him. That is how we are given the opportunity for everlasting life and to do this we must acknowledge him. We are instructed through the bible to say "in Jesus name" in our prayers because of the respect that is due him for this reason. He lived and died for us and he did exactly as his heavenly father instructed him. Jesus himself even said that he did all things not of his own accord but from the one that sent him. (Jehovah God)
Psalm 83:14
18 That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah,
You alone are the Most High over all the earth.
New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures
Go ahead and look, it is in the King James too.
There is much more than following the golden rule, although it is one of the main truths found in the bible "to love your neighbor as yourself." However if any religion has any untruth in it, it therefore becomes false religion. This is because the bible tells us that God cannot lie, that he is a God of truth. Religion is not man made, it is from God, and the bible is inspired of God and is truth.
How do you know what is truth when there are so many religions?
Only by taking the initiative to meditate on what it says and do a personal study of the bible can you get the true meaning of what it says. It is like a puzzle that you progressively put together piece by piece and then it makes sense. The bible tells us to search for it as for a hidden treasure, and if we had a treasure buried in our back yard I bet none of us would stop digging untill we found it. It means your very life, that is why Jesus instructed his disciples to be fishers of men, baptizing them.
Yes, at pentacost 33 CE it was opened up to the nations to become members of God's people not just to the Jews, and today there are people from every race who are true followers of Christ. It is more than a passive thing, the bible tells us that faith without works is dead.
There are people out there who care deeply about you and would be so happy to have a personal study of the bible at no charge. Anytime you have 15 minutes free, or an hour, once a week in your own home, at no charge and at your convenience.

The gospels of the present bible were chosen from the thousands of gospels written about Jesus and his mission existed in the past. The gospel writers were chosen because they have the inclination to believe in the dietification of Jesus (the view of the Constantinian christianity church) while those gospels contrasting such view of the church were destroyed and those found reading them were labelled as heretics, killed, burned on the stakes and massacred.
So why the incorrect bible understanding?
Eventhough many gospels were destroyed and burned and vanished till eternity, some were saved. And also the teachings and doctrines of those gospels still live in the hearts of some of their readers thus even if they are reading the present gospels, they still understand it through the eyes of those "heretical" gospel writers...

Jesus IS God. You can still love those other religious types. Not all religions are a way to God. Christianity (Jesus) is the only way, where you can be saved by faith alone. All other religions say you have to do this and that and be good to be saved. You have to accept Jesus as your savior. If you do that, nothing can keep you from going to Heaven, even becoming an Atheist. The other religions don't believe that only faith can save you, that you have to convert so many others to your faith (Jehovah's witnesses, isn't it) and stuff like that.

Well I do know this for sure you do not have the Light of Life, you do not have Christ as your personal Savior, nor are you filled with His Spirit, You do not truly believe in the LORD God Almighty the Maker of Heaven and Earth, The LORD He is God, YHWH He that is Holy Holy Holy, who does not lie, nor needs to do so.
You misquote Scripture which is a typical of the spirit of the antichrist
Your theology is one syncretism, that is a hodge podge of all religions which will be the composite religion of the false prophet, who is in league with the antichrist and the devil.
You need to confess your sins, call upon Christ ask for the forgiveness of your sins. Be filled with the Spirit of the Living God/

James, you are taking one verse out of the bible and trying to make a point out of it. The bible is a whole book, or a collection of books by different authors as some would say. You must understand the whole book to realize that there is only one God. In the bible it teaches that people were worshiping false gods. The first commandment... Honor no other Gods. In the New Testament, Christ was born. The only son of God. It is only through Jesus that one is saved. In your statement, "so that everyone who believes in him", him is referring to Jesus, not God... although Jesus is God if you read the entire bible. Suggest you contact a pastor of your local church to get further information.

Saved from what? From living in this universe? The bible is based on an irrational understanding of life and reality. Any idea or action based on this will consequently be irrational. Reason is a human's only absolute.

James, thankyou for your concern,
However, one of the main reasons I am not going to convert is precisely because of your question. There are thousands of differing understandings of the Bible. That means that God chose not to make it clear, or doesn't exist. I think that if eternal suffering were really at stake and God really existed, he would have made his will crystal clear, and wouldn't allow multiple religions to lead people to eternal hell. But, if he does exist, that is exactly what he has allowed, which makes him a God that I wouldn't want to follow.
I could never live in paradise knowing my friends or children or family members were being tortured at the same time. Christians have found a way to feel OK about this.
Its just not me.

oh boy, its gonna be a looonnnggg day.
Read it again, friend. He gave his only begotten son, that everyone who believed upon Him (the son) may not perish but have eternal life. Read John 1:1 -
In the beginning, was the WORD and the WORD was with God, and the WORD WAS GOD.
Jesus Christ is the Word of God the Father,
in flesh. When you discredit the WORD, you discredit God the Father.
Love thy neighbor as thyself: this is where you need to understand what it means to
divide the WORD; you need to apply just a bit of that Wisdom God speaks so highly of, that includes something we call common sense.
If a person is actively working against God or the Son, Jesus Christ, they are setting themselves up as the enemy of God and of Christ. These ARE NOT YOUR NEIGHBORS; THESE ARE YOUR ENEMIES. Don't pretend those who try
to throw God out of the Nation; those who
blatently place someone in as the Head of Gods House, yet they live in a homosexual relationship, those who flaunt and strutt their
sin blatently down the streets of Jerusalem,
those who promote passing laws to make it illegal to teach Gods Word in part, Don't pretend these are your neighbors - they aren't. If someone is your enemy, call them your enemy, not your neighbor.
We are to love our neighbor, and we are to even love that enemy, insomuch as we will hope they repent of their sin, and can once again be called "neighbor" or "brother";
We wish for that, but if that is not presently the case, promoting or loving that enemy
is nothing more than treason to God.
You have zero knowledge in the Word of God. It might serve you well to get some.
People who think it is more "God-like" to
be politically correct than to be morally correct or to follow the law of God, have
a crude awakening coming. They may seem as if they are so love-filled as to deserve the very best of the blessings of God, but all they are doing is condoning
practices that make them the enemies of God, period. People can whitewash this all they want, but its not gonna change the truth.
The truth is, Satan is the enemy of God, and therefore the enemy of Gods Children.
Likewise, all those who go against the law
and commandments of God are also the enemies of God, and the enemies of Gods Children.
This is what will ultimately separate those who just like to "play church" with those who are of the true Church of Christ. When the
proverbial kitchen starts to get really hot, you will see that separation happen quite
rapidly, and only the true soldiers of God will remain stedfast and faithful. Gods Elect.

This is the story of doubting Thomas...see what he had to say when he saw the risen Jesus for the first time.
John 20:25
The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
John 20:26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: [then] came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace [be] unto you.
John 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
He recognized that Jesus was not only the Jesus he knew, but was also God. Jesus was God in flesh form, so he could walk among us.
Christians did not invent the idea that a person can only be saved by Jesus
Christians say that Jesus is the only way to God because Jesus Himself said He was the only way to God. It is Jesus' claim, not our invention. Consider these verses where Christ eliminates alternative ways to God: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me" (John 14:6). "For unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins" (John 8:24).
