I would take a chance at meeting them, i've met someone off myspace before, i mean i know it doesn't sound safe but if you have reliable people telling you the person is real and not some 85 year old creep sitting at his computer talking to 14 year old boys then you're good

No, this is totally insane. For all you know, the avatar could be someone completely different!
You may think you're talking to a senstitive and thoughtful guy with all the right answers, and who "looks" like a total hunk (in the cartoon picture.) But in reality, "he" may be a wise grandmother five times over offering you a shoulder to cry on.

I met a girl on Yahoo Personals and we have been dating for over 2 years.

It is possible, but have to say that it's rescue because it's way too much fake and pretentious people here than in any other place. Hey, it's all fine, just not very good for dating.
