He has been incarcerated for 7 years and his now out. We have two teenage girls. They don't mind seeing him, but I want to do what I feel is safe. Should I allow them to see him (supervised) or not at all? He also has to register as a sex offender.

My brother is engaged to this really nice girl but I was surprised when I found out that her cousin is someone I have known since fourth grade. We don't like each other. But know we are going to become in-laws because my brother is marrying his cousin which will make us cousins by marriage. He and my sister-in-law are like brother and sister, What do I do. Iam not sure if i should by an inexpensive fixer upper or buy a small property with cash and try to get construction loan for a small house. My uncle is a retired carpenter and would do the work for no charge. I have a live in job so I wouldnt have to worry about living in the house for a while. Which do you think would be easier in terms of financing. I make a lot of my money in cash and am worried about qualifying for a loan. thanks

When I was young, back in the 60's, I often thought about naming stars after relatives and friends. But, my mom said it couldn't be done, because no one owns the stars. So how does the National Star Registry get away with it?
And have you, or anyone you know, had a star named by that organization?

It happened at a dinner party I hosted. A man sitting on my left was leaning across me to talk to my friend on my right. He kept getting in my space and making me uncomfortable. He was too close. He was breathing in my face, causing me to lose my appetite. I kept scootting up to block his view. I hoped he would back down. He kept getting closer. Finally, he leaned behind the back of my chair and talked to my friend. Irritation! There were no other seats at the table. If this happens again, should I.....

1. Ask him to move away a little?
2. Ask him to change seats with someone?
3. Get up from my seat and eat my meal standing up?
4. Nothing. Let them talk behind my chair.

a) Studies indicate that the price elasticity of demand for cigarettes is about 0.4. If a pack of cigarettes currently costs $2 and the government wants to reduce smoking by 20%, by how much should it increase the price?

b) If the government permanently increases the price of cigarettes, will the policty have a larger effect on smoking 1 year from now or 5 years from now?

c) Studies also find that the teenagers have highter price elasticity than do adults. Why might this be true?

I'm in an advanced choir next year, and we have to pick out and but our own outfits. The girls have sort of decided on a dress (it's not official because only 7 girls were at our first dress meeting), but there are some arguments over it. It doesn't have sleeves and we'd have to wear the matching shrug with it should we choose the dress (our committee leader said something about Mormon girls not wearing sleeveless dresses). The problem is that most of us who were at the meeting don't want to wear a long-sleeved shrug because it gets really hot on stage, and it wouldn't be too ideal for traveling (we do a lot of traveling opn buses and stuff around the community). The dress we've sort of picked out is the Arietta Dress and the crepe shrug at Southeastern Performance Apparel. If anyone could find a few other appropriate dresses, it would be really helpful; the dress has to be full-length, preferrably a little bit of sleeve over the shoulder, and we've decided on black.

My college career is at a stand still AGAIN... I just don't know ... I guess college is not right for me... I have been in college since 2001... first studying Medicine (I got into a 7 year program where you get your BA and MD), then I had personal crisis that forced me to leave (i really didn't want to study medicine. it was more like the thing to do in my family.) then I went back to school and ended up majoring in Political Science (again, something I wasn't really into). Then, for not even a semester got into History. That didn't last. And this summer I tried Math and I just don't have the Math skill I used to have.

Sigh...

There is one field I know I really always liked. And that is computers. I was taught myself this or that and loved to mess with my computer. I even self-taught myself some basic C programming and currently messing with Python and Linux. Majoring in Computer Science at this point is near impossible because of my finical burden.

Can I get a job in computers?
