Sucks. Im stuck at work till 1 am. Have to wait till i get home and watch the tape, at least I can fast forward through the hour of commercials.

Thought Id complain about it.

Chapter One



My sister Emily and I anticipated summer vacation for a long time. Now it was finally here. Now this was part of our regular routine, and everything was boring.

The afternoon sun was especially hot today, making me feel as if I were living in a dry desert rather than Baton Rouge. The soft hiss of sprinklers in the neighbor’s yard made me wish I could go swimming. The community pool was over two miles away and I was sure it would be packed. I didn’t feel like walking to the Dairy Queen and our fridge had been with out ice cream for days.

Not even the animals could escape the heat. Not one bird took flight that day. Instead they chose to rest in the shade of the neighbor’s oak trees which our yard had been deprived of.

The only disturbance in the air was the occasional breeze that drifted through the open window. Our air conditioner was broken, leaving the air in the house as humid and stuffy as outside.

hey, my dog was put to sleep two days ago. Me and my family are gonna start to look for a new dog in about 6 months or so! I'm 13, its kinda hard. One side of me cant wait for the new dog and the other side gives me a sick feeling when i think of replacing connor. what can i do to eez the pain when i get a new dog, oh yeah and dont say "dont get a new dog" or "wait longer then that" because i really do want a new dog, i just wanna know how to eez the pain for myslef and my little 11 year old brother. mostly him tho. he took it worse because he's younger and grew more attatched, but hes the same with me and he really wants a new dog but feels sick when he thinks of replacing him. What should i do and think to help myself. Please tell me answers that dont have to do with not getting a dog! thanks!

My wife and I have recently decided to take up hiking after going to amicalola falls state park in North Georgia. We went to the "hike Inn" near the park, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The only backpacking experience I've had was while I was in the military, and that was limited, but I had an issue LC-1 A.L.I.C.E. pack, with an external frame, and I don't think it fit me well, althgouh the basic design of the external frame has been around for a very long time, and has been tried in nearly every outdoor condition, I am thinking that that particular one just didn't fit me. Any thoughts? Preffereably those that have used both, although all answers are appreciated.

Im trying to re-design my garden but we are having really bad weather recently and its filled up the trenches i have dug for my new walls with rain. We have really bad drainage in the garden so its not draining away quickly. Can anyone suggest an inexpensive way to cover/protect the garden from the rain which would allow me to continue working in the garden at the same time?

My garden is 5m wide by 9m long (if that makes any difference?) I was going to nail polythene to the fences to cover the garden but i thought that might rip and blow away in the wind?! Any other ideas are most welcome! Thanks

I read in many Yahoo Answers that Mormons believe that people with dark skin are cursed and that explains what happened to their physical appearance (if we are all descended from Noah). However, I think that most people understand that there were three creations (one for each of the three races: Caucasian, Mongoloid, and *******).

my hair is past the bottom of my back
its kinda golden strawberry blondish
its also really thick which can be a problem cuz i cant do it up very well and if i can manage 2 get it up somehow, it looks terrible
