Not well, sorry to tell you this,, hope you have a tissue or something handy... he passed away. Yeah that correct Bruce Lee passed away. SO not matter how young much more young he could have gotten at the age he was when he died. He in his career peek.

IF he were alive, i think he would not do as well as other think, except in his weight class and division, many heavy weigths would wreck him. movies can make you look invincible. Watch the bloopers you can see all the errors.

Bruce was a great guy and a great asset to the art but think it is more respecful to think and accept that he never would have competed in the UFC anyways, that was not his way. He as a peacful man.

PS

CHUCK was not a student of Bruce Lee, they trained often together because they were friends and that is how Chuck got into one of his films and dies in it by Bruce in a one on one match. Chuck studied mainly Tang So Do where Bruce was mainly Wing Chung....Chuck Norris created the martial art Chun Kuk Do, which is based primarily on Tang Soo Do and includes elements from every combat style Chuck knows. Like many other martial arts Chun Kuk Do includes a code of honor and rules to live by. These rules are from Chuck Norris' personal code. They are:

1. I will develop myself to the maximum of my potential in all ways.
2. I will forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements
3. I will continually work at developing love, happiness and loyalty in my family
4. I will look for the good in all people and make them feel worthwhile.
5. If I have nothing good to say about a person, I will say nothing.
6. I will always be as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
7. I will maintain an attitude of open-mindedness
8. I will maintain respect for those in authority and demonstrate this respect at all times.
9. I will always remain loyal to God, my country, family and my friends.
10. I will remain highly goal-oriented throughout my life because that positive attitude helps my family, my country, and myself.

He started training in 1958 while in the air force.

At a martial arts demonstration in Long Beach, Norris met the soon-to-be famous martial artist Bruce Lee whom he respects and considers as superior. In 1972, he acted as Bruce Lee's nemesis in the movie Way of the Dragon (titled Return of the Dragon in its US distribution), which is widely credited with launching his way into stardom. In Asia, he is still known primarily for this role.

Sorry for that long information but Chuck did not learn from Bruce, they only trained together and hence in that sence they learned from each other. Chuck was well known already when he met Lee.

Not very well. Bruce was a striker, not a grappler.

The problem with MMA is that it isn't an art, it is a street fight dressed like a sport.

The UFC had a great idea in the begining by pitting styles against each other. That was excellent. Now everyone tries to incorporate everything and becomes a master at none of them.

In the end, when they get in trouble, they often resort to their original style.

Regardless, I like Bruce, but neither he nor Mike Tyson would last a round against a fairly good MMA guy.

Now if the rules were not grappling, Bruce. If the rules were no Grappling or kicks, Mike.

I think Bruce Lee in his prime would do real good! The man was a head of his time. Back when boxers stuck with boxing, karate with karate, wrestlers with wrestlers etc... He was already training in many disciplines! He trained with all kinds of guys to get a feel for bigger, and taller men. The little guy was also one powerful son of a gun!

I see bruce like a BJ Penn... he has fought at 155 lb. 170, and has gone up to 205 lbs to compete! and He is always competes really well because the man just knows how to fight! (the main difference between the 2 is that bruce was a far better striker, and Penn would probably have the edge on the jiu jitsu side) so yes I think bruce would have been awesome.

Wow, some responses really surprised me here.

To be honest, Bruce Lee would have kicked most, if not all, of the contestants ***.

First of all, most of them have a lot of fat on them which shows they are not too serious about being as great a fighter as possible (Bruce had less than 5% fat), and most of them have too bulky muscles, which just slows them down too much and makes their movement more clumsy (Bruce had extremely defined, lean, and tightly packed dense muscles for ease, and quick movement but also powerful technique and strength).

Bruce Lee trained and studied to be the most effective and efficient fighter he could possibly be. He studied Martial Arts Scientifically, Philosophically, Physiologically, in great depth, and from all different perspectives. He looked at all the different styles, and took what was most effective, and added what was his own. He would train for hours and hours every day, and basically that is all he would spend his time doing. It was said by a friend of his that all he would find Bruce doing was either practicing Martial Arts of thinking about/theorizing Martial Arts.

He trained in a way that he thought would be the best and most efficient in a real fight situation. Yes it is true that MMA is very effective, but it is clearly not as effective as what Bruce Lee's fighting ability was.

His eating habits were amazing, and he never drank alcohol, or smoked etc. When you watch UFC you can see many of the Martial Artists drinking alcohol. Which shows they are not 'too' serious about being a great fighter, and also makes them physically not as great a fighter.

His wife said that she would often find Bruce doing multiple things at once like Performing a side split, while watching boxing on TV, while pumping a dumbell in one hand, and reading a martial art book in the other. I doubt any of those UFC fighters have that much passion to become that good a fighter.

Bruce Lee already answered that question back in the '60s when he was asked how come he did not compete in tournaments. Bruce Lee said because he would not be allowed to use 75% of his techniques in a match (eye gouges, groin kicks, weaponry, etc.).

So its a good bet that if Bruce Lee were alive today and in his prime, he would not participate in the UFC or MMA matches.

Overall, I think he would do very well. He was an excellent physical specimen, very intelligent, and an insatiable mind towards learning technique. Obviously this is all speculation, but I see Bruce Lee adapting to what we've learned from his time to now. E.G.: Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is an excellent way to neutralize larger and stronger opponents, and I'm sure it would capture his interest. Besides, he basically came up with the philosophy that is at the heart of MMA: keep what works and eliminate the rest.

I feel like if Bruce Lee were here today he would be alot like Chuck Norris in that he would have adapted somehow(Not that his tears would cure cancer and unlike chuck I doubt he would believe it is not butter)

Chuck Norris Started in Tang Soo Do(what the koreans call the effective version of Tae Kwon do)and moved to shotokan karate. In the last 10 years Chuck started doing Hapkido and BJJ and he holds a Blackbelt in Hapkido and a Brown Belt in BJJ.

IMO bruce lee would have done the same. Most likely started doing adding some San Shou and some kind of grapping into his Arsnal.

Well, I think what a lot of people forget is he's not just Incredibly skilled (was). He was unimaginably fast. The cameramen had to ask him to slow down because he was literally to fast to be caught by their 70's equipment. he was the fastest.

Plus he would be put in the feather weight division. He only weighed 135 pounds. You know anyone in that division that stands a chance??!?!?!? No. Maybe If he fought the Liddel, Hughes, Forrest type fighters but it would still be an awesome fight.

I would love to see that. He would win every single fight for sure. MMA fighters are boxers/grapplers and maybe some muay thai. When do you ever see any wing chun, kali, silat, pananjakman fighters in those tournaments? I believe forest griffin has studyed Jeet Kune Do though. But, I think bruce lee would woop some serious ***.

couldnt tell ya but Bruce had already answered that ?back in his day. he said that he couldnt use all of his techniques because of the rules tht they had.

P.S.
this is for all those ppl that think Chuck Norris would whoop Bruce Lee. Chuck Norris was one of Lee's students. there is a movie slide that has Chuck and Lee practising together and Chuck couldnt do anything with Bruce. wat ever Chuck threw at Bruce, Bruce would counter it needless to say bruce was laughing at him in away during training you could see the expression on his face when his style was doing nothing against Lee's style. Ok enough of that but every movie that Lee had he had at least one of his students play in it with him including Chuck Norris
